The Dark Tower -The Movie?!

I read that Sony entertainment is planing to make The Dark Tower into a movie HERE. They are beginning to look for directors NOW. Which means possibly that they haven't decided on the actors? Who would we contact to suggest a certain actor for the role of Roland?

Ooo, now that's very interesting news. \o/ If they're looking for a director now, I don't think they have looked for actors yet because the diretor would probably have a say in that. Your tags seem to hint at who you think would be a good Roland (and I've thought about that while reading, too). Was it you suggesting it at the source? ;)

Also, in this case I'd say that the best way to suggest a certain actor would be to inform the actor of the movie/part, because I don't think the studio would care all that much who plays the part as long as they bring in the $$$.

I'd SOOOO watch if Jensen was playing Roland <3<3 I totally want to suggest it. He would be perfect for the job.

Sounds interesting.

This project may take years...kinda like The Lord of the Rings trilogy did (which I still haven't watched :/). They signed the actors for all three movies right off, taking a chance the first installment would be well received. I wonder if they will do the same for this. :p

They did pretty good with the LoTR. Whether I watch this though would depend solely on who does Roland. He has to be able to kill us with the angst behind all the cold-bloodedness and the hard eyes.

The only Steven King movie I've seen was "IT" and that was really scary but I really liked the message.

The Dark Tower series is not really horror though - more of a fantasy western ... sort of like Mad Max or even TWD in a way (the last policeman looking for a way to save the world :P)...but with some magic and travel between worlds and all kinds of awesome - just like SPN. So it can't really be compared to those horror novels. If done right, it could be an awesome film.

It's the stuff of Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood <3<3
