Well, the ceremony itself was not that exciting so no pictures there, but I told you I was going to post some photos of his uniform so, that, and some snapshots during the group photo on campus since the campus is quite beautiful :)
An old school building, now used as a tea room.
Alex is in Class B of three classes. The boy to the right of him went to the same JH as Alex and is also double nationality (or "half" as they like to say in Japan). They were glad they were in the same class. There is one other boy from their school who was unfortunately in a different class, but hopefully he will make friends quickly. Alex has already made a new friend - one who has been at this school since JH (The school has divisions from kindergarten and up - with elementary through 12th grade on the same campus) - which I was very happy to see.
Me taking photos with my phone :D and my mother-in-law.
(In the back is a cafeteria where lunches can also be bought for a very reasonable price.)
And here are some extra photos of the store where we got Alex's uniform goods. It also sells festival goods during the festival seasons and the owner is very knowledgeable about old firefighters during the edo and taisho periods. My mother-in-law had an uncle who was a firefighter so we took her to show her an old firefighter uniform decorating the wall. She enjoyed looking and talking about the old days with the owner.
The coat is a real fire fighter uniform from the edo period.
