A couple of friends mentioned dreading watching this ep because that meant we were on our way to the end of Show. I totally felt the same way. Maybe that is one of the reasons why I shied away from Show for almost the whole of Hiatus. Anyway, we're back and despite some reluctance, I really wanted to see what was going to happen after that ending last Season so here I am with my thoughts. Please tell me yours too in the poll and/or comments!
Poll SPN 15-1 Back and To the Future That was a weird ep. I did enjoy the first bit, fighting and running from the zombies. I did wonder how those doors of the crypt(?) could stay closed with just a screwdriver between them (LOL). Sam explaining that they were iron cleared that up a bit but, then how could the ghosts even bang on them?
The demon was hilarious in some ways, cringe-worthy in others. I could not watch through some of the things he was saying, they made me uncomfortable - his talk about being a fan of Dean in Hell, and how good-looking people are now - especially Dean who's "gorgeous" in particular. I mean I'm fine talking about it now, I understand how it would be funny, and I totally agree that Dean is gorgeous! but I just couldn't watch through the whole thing from secondhand embarrassment. I did like the demon's personality and his style though. Kudos to Alex's change in personas.
I didn't particularly enjoy the ghost parts in town - the whole thing just seemed weird. None of the ghosts were very scary and were actually rather disappointing. Sam looks really dorky running away from the ghosts with his knees bent so high though. I laughed :D
I liked the talk in the end between Sam and Dean about how if they can win this, then they really are free because Chuck is gone. The only thing that bothered me there was the fact that they didn't include Cas in the equation. After all these years, despite telling him he is family, they don't include him in their war against the ghosts of Hell. I didn't mind seeing that shot of Sam and Dean at the end, with "We've got work to do." I am pretty sure we all mouthed/said the words with them... am I right?
I am interested in knowing how they are going to convince the town people or even the FBI that it is unsafe to go back into the area. Will they tell everyone the truth? THAT would be different, and very interesting. I guess Sam's wound is going to be one of those things that they will be trying to find a cure for this season. And we will be seeing Jack in the Empty yet too, so I'm looking forward to that.
All in all, I'd say it was an ok ep and I am looking forward to a better one next week.
