more of the same
This weekend was a repeat of lst weekend, not enough sleep or food while keeping a vigil with my wife. She is still on the ventillator, but she seems to be doing pretty good, just needs to be strong enough to breathe without it. I think that is partly the routine's fault, they come and test her first thing in the morning when she is most tired and unable to stay alert, and besides that they are using a smaller than normal tubing, which means she will need higher o2 levels than normal, and I think they are forgetting that. There have been a few really good nurses and RT's (respiratory therapists) that have known there stuff really well, but they are not on shift when it is most important to have them there. Either that or they do stuff when I am working and not able to call anything to their attention, and the people who are there don't know enough about the situation to say the right things to get their attention as to what they should be doing. Very frustrating. We were supposed to go to Hawaii this thursday, her parents had paid for tickets and a hotel, but we obviously aren't going now, so I am going to keep this thursday off work still though, along with next week, so I can be there at the right times hopefully. Her parents said that we can schedule a different date later, so that is cool, we just won't be going with all the rest of the family and friends, of which there are now a lot of them going. Oh well... I've never seen Hawaii, but I hear it is nice.
