my vacation and such
This was a great weekend. would have been amazing if not for a couple of small things.
Nicole, my dad and myself drove up to the lake on friday. It was nice and quiet, plenty relaxing, and pretty much perfect. Then my mom and sister came. It's not that i didn't want to see them,its just that having 5 people and 3 dogs up at the lake can be a little taxing. Regardless, we made it work. Nicole and I were both up past 2am friday and saturday just talking about anything and everything. I know we're engaged and already really close, but I think that we've been lacking that extra little bit of communication that we've had at other points in our relationship. Anyway, talking must have been just what we needed, and me being happier than i've been in months didn't hurt that at all.
I guess that needs explaining too. I love school, but it wears me down. I graduated and took all of my finals with nicole gone, and then as soon as i finished up and should have been relaxing, i needed to study for another actuarial exam (FM this time around if anyone is keeping track). It went well, and WIth about 20 minutes before it was time for the test to end, i felt completely relieved of any kind of stress. I laid my head back, took a deep breath, and realized that i finished early AND was happy with my work. thats probably (hopefully) going to be a good thing.
But that was it. The two biggest stressors in my life were done right then. School is finished, and I have my degree coming in the mail. It doesn't sound as great as Nicole having her 3 degrees, but I finished nonetheless, and I'll admit that a mathematics degree requires a lot of fucking work. It wasn't always fun, but It was always a challenge, and it always kept me on my toes.
And now I'm done for awhile. I forgot where i was going with this post, but I can't shake this happy feeling at the moment and I dont want to be at my computer. Time to relax. Anyone want to join me?
