(no subject)

I really love how people (all people) construct narratives and apply meanings to things. This is an entirely internal process based as minimally in reality as any other human endeavor. But you can always rely on your fellow man to fail utterly in understanding intent and purpose.

For example, there was a car sitting outside my bedroom for more than 70 minutes last night. I fabricated all kinds of stories, from police on a stakeout (boring) to bounty hunters on a mission (with some very exciting consequences!). This morning, I read entries in a journal about tragic and "i'm SO emo" moments in an exceedingly mundane person's life. I came across an email alias and immediately thought of someone I've not seen in 8 years. Was it him? No. Could it have been? Sure. Likewise, I have to laugh at the message boards in which those losing arguments flail about with radical claims and counterintuitive logic. I make a pouty-lipped sad face in your general direction, while your heads spin of misinformation and half-informed judgments on matters with meaning beyond your repetoire of knowledge. How quaint and touching that these individuals even try to address those concerns. It's like when the Crusaders arrived at Jerusalem, determined to save the Holy City; except that they had taken so long to cross Europe that Jerusalem needed no rescue and stood as a multicultural city. The Crusaders laid siege to the city anyway. There are plenty of nicer terms for that these days, like, say, "barking up the wrong tree." But it really just comes down to trying to bring down the wrong wall. Take your armies home, thank you.

I'd like to end with a quote.
"It sounds like you don't know much about the *NORMAL* computer user. Trust me, it's an issue. And *ALL* software have potential security flaws. This goes for Macs as well. As for Windows (any version). It was a poorly designed OS from the get-go and has remained so."

and another:
"640K ought to be enough for anyone." Bill Gates, on Random Access Memory.
