Video submission regulations reminder

Sep 01, 2007 20:34

This is just a reminder that both Kawoosh! and The Impala follow the same video submission regulations and do not accept any submissions that only point to temporary and/or streaming hosting places.

This is primarily because we want our vidding archives to be as complete and permanent as possible, and listing temporary/streaming links would create incredibly frustrating and unreliable archives, directing visitors to broken links and dead ends. We'd also like to try and avoid, as far as possible, some of the legal implications currently connected with streaming sites which we're sure you're all aware of and some discussions of which are linked on the video submission regulations post.

Due to the video submission regulations we also have an approved/accepted list of free hosting services for both websites and video files which is constantly added to following suggestions made by members of the_kawoosher, the forum and impala_kaz2y5. If any of you have any suggestions to add, or sites you think would be suitable for this list, we'd love to hear from you.

We also do this partly to encourage newer vidders to use more permanent hosting rather than temporary links/streaming sites, in the hope that their vids can then be seen and enjoyed by a wider fan audience. We are also happy to offer advice to anyone wanting to set up their own paid or free website for their vids.

Thank you - Muppet & Gater
