I'd have uploaded this sooner, but we've had some power issues due to the lol!tornadoes currently circling around D.C. -.- pretty, yet irritating

Daughter and I both think you have mad Copic skillz! That is gorgeous . . . the fire effects are so very cool. Daughter has asked I print this out so she can study it. She is very interested in what colors you have used for the flesh, if you wouldn't mind sharing that information.
My favorite figure now is Nekkid Sammy in the middle . . . something about the way you colored his hair and lighting you've done on him is just riveting.
*stands and applauds* I will be anxiously waiting to see more of your beautiful art!
hahaha thankyou! :D i'm so glad you like ^_^ i've been working with copics for a couple years now and thankfully that entitles me to learning and knowing a few good tricks :3
i can go through the colors i used for the skintones here, but there's a lot, lol. i have a tendency to blend a great deal of colors for my desired effect, even if it doesn't look it. (which includes shades of warm grey and purples.)
if you'd like, i could email you with the particular skin pallete i used for this along with anything else she'd like to know. i have some more pics she could look at as well too including a play by play i did once that you can actually kinda see here (its small, i know, but i'm bound to the rules of photobucket. i do have a bigger version if she'd like it) but if you would not like to share the email, no worries! i have no problem posting the info and links here ^^ just let me know. always glad to help out another copic fan ;)
Ooooooooooooh, the step-by-step is so cool to see! You do beautiful work. And you make it look like so much fun that my own fingers are itching to start playing with Copics now!
That would be so wonderful if you'd be kind enough to e-mail the bigger step-by-step and skin pallette. (I had the feeling it was going to be a BUNCH of different colors and in the end the information is going to end up costing me money. Hee!)
No problem sharing my e-mail (band_wench@yahoo dot com) and please know that I am very grateful for your generous offer to help. She is such a good kid and is so enamored of your skill and willingness to share with her. (She's met some not-nearly-so-nice people on DA, so it is really heart-warming that you are showing her that there are kind, talented people willing to help others
( ... )
again, you are most welcome! i'll pull together the list of skintone colors once i get home from work tonight and send you the files ^^ just ooc, which of the figures in the picture was she the most interested in knowing? There are actually three different combinations of colors. (Sam in the middle, the young boys in the firelight, and then the boys in each of the three remaining frames)
*sigh* unfortunately, i can tell you from experience that DA is NOT the place to go for any willing or polite tutelage. aside from the few and far between that offer tutorials and anything else she can look at visually, i doubt she'll hear much in the way of useful response :( I have a gallery on DA as well, but mainly to keep in contact with other artists i know and occasionally upload fanart.
may i never be so full of myself or my art to turn my nose up at another artist for wanting to learn. (/soapbox

OMG! You are the artist that did "Priorities!" Gawd, I am such a dork. That comic strip rocked my world and had me laughing like a loon when I stumbled across it on DA!
I received your e-mail and forwarded it to daughter with the explicit instructions for her to be SURE to let you know she got the information. I guess I didn't give her my stern mother face when I said that last bit. *sigh* I apologize that she didn't respond to at least let you know she had gotten it, let alone tell you how much she appreciated you taking the time to compose all that. Kids!
*I* sincerely appreciated all the time and trouble you went through to give her the links and information. I know she read it. And I know it will help her.
THANK YOU from both of us! (And I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to your DA gallery . . . it was so fun to see you trying out different styles of coloring and drawing. You really are so very talented, and I hope you know that!)
you are more than welcome! :D *sorry bout the delay, was in between traveling and forgetting things, lol* and omg! a gift! I've never had LJ gifts before XD hahaha, thankyou so very much :3 that makes me happier than it should XD
no worries about your daughter replying back to me ^.^ she did, so no worries. I was more just hoping that it went through than actually looking for any kind of reaction or anything. and i appreciate the kind comments :3 it really helps to know that doing what i love is appreciate and liked among others ^^
btw, just out of curiosity and if you don't mind me asking...have you ever gone to a supernatural con?
If anyone ever deserved a "gold star" I think it is YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU! So glad that little bit of nothing made ya happy. (I get ridiculously excited about VGs myself, so I am giggling with you!)
I have not attended a Supernatural Con, or any other sort of Con for that matter. *grumbles and kicks things about that unhappy fact* I sooooo want to go to the Chicago One. It is so close to me and they are both gonna be there and I could be the filling in a J2 Sammich picture! Hee! You need to go, and take a bunch or art prints with you to sell out of your room and you could make a bazillion dollars!!! (I know almost nothing about this, but I do have an LJ friend who does just that with her computer-printed/matted photo manips.)
I mainly go to anime cons, and have been selling my art there for a couple of years now ^^ just something i and my 'studio' do for fun. The reason i was asking is because i'd LOVE to go to a supernatural con, but I'm the only person i know of that's interested. Whereas, i'd be going alone as opposed to being used to traveling or meeting up with friends. so there's a bit of hesitation, lol ^^; i've been to chicago before for anime cons, so it's not like i'd be against the idea. same with the florida con. in fact, i'd absolutely love it and i know it, but i personally know of no one going and wasn't sure how i'd go about it in general. and heyall yes, if i DID go, i'd wanna go all out XD pics and autographs and everything :3 if only once. FUN.
and LOL, people actually go there to sell art? i figured that was just an anime con thing.
