John Shiban, Executive Producer and series writer, took time out of his busy schedule to speak exclusively to Eclipse Magazine about the challenges of putting Sam and Dean Winchester, whom are also wanted by the FBI, behind bars and about writing the characters and the series in general. Isn't it WHO are? *grammar whore* -___- Would it kill these people to turn on 'grammar check' in Word?! It's a professional magazine! Geez!
someone exacting their own brand of justice when the system fails to do so. Sounds oddly like The X-Files episode "The List" from season 3...
It’s important that even a spirit be a well-rounded character. We try to bring a complexity to our ghosts and demons - makes for better mysteries and better dramas. Very cool. :)
“ Of course, the demons have a nasty habit of catching up to the boys… so stay tuned.” Woohoo! Can't wait for the finale.
All in all, nice and informative interview. Thanks for linking us. :)

I've never watched X-Files but I think the theme of having "someone exacting their own brand of justice when the system fails" is something that is used on a lot of shows and many times even more than once. As long as it is done in a way that's unique for that episode/show, I often find those kinds of plots very interesting. It's fun to explore I think partly because it's so often such a gray area and there are many ways to get into it (which is why the theme often comes up on the same show many times just in different situations).
Oh, I know it's quite popular, but in TXF, it was the ghost/spirit of a dead convict or something exacting his own revenge on these five people who wronged him. It all took place in a jail as well, so that's why I brought it up. :)

It's been so long since I've seen "The X-Files," that I'll have to go back and watch that.
I know, right. They so accomplished that with Molly in "Roadkill."
I've seen all of the spoilers for that, and it does look really good. My poor Sammy, though.
You're welcome. I didn't notice it already posted in the comm, so I figured folk'd want to hear about it.
