Someone was asking me about Dean's phone messages and stuff, and then we got to talking about John's e-mail, which is jwinchester1246(@gmail.com, I think?). We started talking about the 1246 and what it might mean. The most obvious is his birth month and year-- December 1946. I was just wondering if yall thought the same or if there were other theories about the meaning behind 1246.
You have to be 18 to serve in the Marines, and in John's journal, he's got a Vietnam Service Medal, meaning he served somewhere between 1970-1973, I believe. So if he is 18 in 1973, he can't have been born any later than 1955 (cuz 1973-1955=18). So if he was born in 1946, he'd be 27 while serving in Vietnam. If Mary died at 28ish, then John's probably at least a couple/few years older. He's also got a Purple Heart in his journal, meaning he was wounded, so it makes sense if he got sent home a few years after he was 27. Plus, he's seen in the pilot episode wearing the Marines shirt. Sooo, I think it makes sense for John to be 60 in the show now. It adds up.
What do you think?
EDIT:
It appears the draft script for the pilot placed John at 30 when Mary died. Since it was a draft, I guess it still fits for him to be 60 (instead of early 50s)? It's just five years give or take, yeah?
