Supernatural's Jensen Ackles Gives the Scoop on Season 3

Supernatural - Season 3 returns in Australian prime time as “must see tv”. More than just a show about demons, fantasy and heaven and hell, this fast-paced action series looks into the life of two brothers - Sam and Dean Winchester - with one purpose - keeping the world safe from evil. One of Hollywood’s hottest 30 year olds, Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) spoke live with AOL:

AOL: It has been a long journey and a big transition from Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives and three Emmys you won for that role to your prime time character on Supernatural that fans love. Tell us more about that process.
JA: It has been a big transition. Since leaving the show seven years ago I have been very lucky to have been able to work on great projects including Smallville, Dark Angel and Dawson’s Creek. Supernatural has just been such a success!

AOL: You are turning thirty years old in two weeks. Do you feel that your character Dean is maturing at the same rate that you are?
JA: Definitely not. He is still the same person he was when the series started.

AOL: What can fans expect in Season three?
JA: As you know the writers strike really slowed down moving the story line, in fact, it didn’t go anywhere. We were fortunately able to get about twelve episodes done - about the half the season - so I myself don’t really know. Now that the strike has ended we will go back in a few weeks. I look forward to getting back on the set and myself getting some answers. I am waiting by patiently and anxiously as well waiting to see what is going to happen with the guys. Your guess is as good as mine!

AOL: And Ruby, onscreen, how is Dean’s dynamic with this new character?
JA: Actually Katie and I only worked together on one episode. She tends to be working more closely with the character Sam. Katie is great as a person. She is a beautiful girl, very professional and confident. I am interested to see what happens as her character evolves and develops.

AOL: The brothers, Sam and Dean, seem to be quite different in personality. How do you feel the characters play off each other - season after season?
JA: I think the chemistry and dynamic lends itself to the two characters working well. The fact that we are two different individuals - it would be less interesting if we were the same. Often Jared (Sam) is there being very straight faced and I am there making an idiot of myself. It seems to work out pretty well. It’s a nice balance.

AOL: What do you think is the one reason Australians should make SUPERNATUAL appointment viewing?
JA: You’d have to turn in and see my goofy older/younger brother. Girls love him!
