"Everybody asks why I started at the end, and worked back to the beginning.
The reason is simple.
I couldn’t understand the beginning until I’d reached the end."

How do you sum up a year's worth of life?
Can you capture it all through the lens of a camera? Can you measure it by the number of things that you accomplished? By the people who disappointed you? Made you happy?
While people may have their own way of dealing with "endings," I'm almost entirely sure that when they reach the end of a road, everybody tends to walk down the same path--one affectionately referred to as the memory lane.
For me, personally, 2006 has been an amazing year. I'm not saying that it lacked chaos, frustrations or even regrets. I'm saying that DESPITE all of that, I've managed to muddle through and make do with the situations that were handed to me. However, I couldn't have done it without realizing a few things along the way.
This year made me realize that even though sometimes life just plain SUCKS, there will always be people who are kind. People who make an effort for you. People who make you smile. People who pull through again and again no matter how many times you let them down. These are the ones that you remember as you open a new chapter in your life and the ones that you want to have by your side when the new year rolls around.
As humans, you will get hurt. You will cry. You'll get ridiculously angry at times and more often than once, you will want to give up on life. 2007 won't give you many surprises; you'll just come to accept that the world continues to revolve, with or without your permission.
But isn't it funny how people continue to hope anyway?
They'll wish for good luck to come their way, and pray for the upcoming year to be sweeter than the last. People don't stop hoping, even when they don't want to admit it.
I know that some see being optimistic as weak, but I think that hope only makes us stronger and better people. Relying on ourselves all the time and having a realist's point of view can turn us into insecure, selfish and downright obsessive people.
At some point, even the strongest will be brought down to their knees because of their weaknesses. Why not just open up to the world? Keep a broad mind, accept circumstances that are out of your reach, learn to love your flaws, and look forward to the future.
After all, the grand essentials of happiness are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.
With that said, I just wanted to wish you all:
Merry Christmas
& Happy New Year 2007.
Love,
