My first time playing on an organ in a church

And I know you read that dirty... ;) (or if you didn't, now you have)

For those of you who don't know (which I think is everyone reading this) I have played the electric organ for the past ten years and I LOVE it. But I think I have just found something I love more.

Today was our school Christmas Carol service and I was invited to play on the church organ. Yes, the proper organ with pipes and stops and pedals I couldn't play because my legs weren't long enough. I joked to my music teacher afterwards, I was tempted to line myself up, then stand on the pedals for the last note, because it's the only way I could have played them! :D

Anyway, it was very exciting and I don't think I made too much of a fool of myself. And, I now have the vicar's contact details if I ever want another go on it! I love the noise it makes, the enormous sound, and the way it shakes the whole building. I love the lightness of the keys, and the slight pause between pressing a key and the sound coming out of a pipe. I love all those stops that I don't understand, and watching my music teacher pull them out or push them in and know exactly what he's doing.

I LOVE CHURCH ORGANS. K?

music, organ, christmas
