(no subject)
I never realized how scary the religious right (write? bah) could be, until they encroached on my anime fandoms. Big Brother is very, very big, and less brotherly than I would like. They have too much money and time for my comfort.
In other news, here is my second trip to Japan. Pictures from Founders are forthcoming, I swear. Followed by pictures from Disneyland, including me hugging the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland!!!
I'm still going to grad school in August. I've lost 18 pounds. I may or may not have a lung deformity. I'm getting my TMJ fixed (hopefully) in late June. My car's driver's side door won't lock with the key fob anymore; I have to actually use the key to lock it. Also, my reverse lights are broken. And the paint is fading. *sigh* Let's see, what else do I need to share about my life?
Oh! A friend of mine just got engaged. Our lunch conversation today consisted mostly of jewelry purchasing and wedding planning. My jealousy knows no bounds! He sounded very happy, though, and that makes me happy.
My manga collection is still growing, with no end in sight. I'm starting to branch into manwa (forgive the spelling), which is manga made in Korea. Their female leads seem to have more attitude, pizzazz, spunk, etc than their Japanese counterparts. Perhaps that's influenced by my choices? I'm reading Hissing; Cynical Orange; Goong; Kill Me, Kiss Me; and Boy Princess (admittedly, that doesn't have girls in it). Someday, perhaps I'll type my list of manga in LJ. I keep a journal (a ledger?!) now, so that I don't buy things I already own. Some series I don't continue (Buso Renkin comes to mind, as does Angel Sanctuary), some series I finish and then despise (Paradise Kiss comes to mind, although I'm more mad at myself for not seeing which way the wind was blowing). Some series I read over and over again (Gravitation, Passion, the Only the Ring Finger Knows novels, etc).
Can anyone teach me / give me hints on how to actually wear make-up? I fail at being girly.
