It's been awhile. Pardon me as I ramble.
I'm keeping up on manga. Crossroads (by Go!Comi) is turning out to be much better than I originally thought, as is One Thousand and One Nights (which might be by NetComics). Meanwhile, J-Boy by Biblos was strictly ok, but you can find better stuff on yaoi_daily, or in the actual Japanese magazines. Or maybe I'm just too well read? The novels coming out from June are actually quite good, with The Man Who Doesn't Take Off His Clothes being the most evil of cliffhangers! The Only the Ring Finger Knows novels are a great trilogy I recommend to yaoi fans, and I believe that all novels being released by June for yaoi are by the same author. I'm not positive, though, so you may need to do your own research. Oh! And Black Knight (by Blu) is a rare gem of a love story that deserves a chance. The seme is a stern character that actually cares! Read it, leave it a week, and then read it again.
The Helling Ultimate OVA is everything you've ever wanted out of the Hellsing series, and more. I cannot recommend it enough. It's the first anime DVD I've bought in awhile, and I am not disappointed. If you liked the manga, you will drool on yourself over this. The soundtrack is excellent, the computer-generated artwork is great, and the animation is great. Sometimes the animation flips between gorgeous and manga-style, but the OVA has a good feeling to it. The director obviously put a lot of thought into it. If you get the special edition, it comes with a nice relief figure of Alucard, and who doesn't want THAT on their desk at work?!
Oh! To let you know what depths I've fallen to: I must now keep a notebook (A LEDGER) of what manga I own, so I do not buy duplicates. It's terrible, but I enjoy every minute of it. Once you have to go back to Borders for the third time because you bought something you already own, you'd keep a notebook, too.
I am in the process of writing my entrance essays for graduate school. I think Thunderbird School of Management is my first choice, so I'll be shooting for the top! Nothing but the best for a super moo! Once they're done, I have to pass on paperwork to the people writing me letters of recommendation, and then I have to figure out how to PAY for grad school. And I must take the GMATs soon. Whew!
I will be going to Japan again this summer. If you cannot live without a specific thing from Japan, let me know. If I cannot carry it back, I will mail it, and I will be going in EVERY SINGLE MAJOR ANIME STORE in both AKIHABARA and IKEBUKURO. I am a tornado of fangirl. *whirl whirl*
And now, this tornado of fangirl must go read some manga before bed. Tomorrow is at least a half day of work, followed by video games and possibly dates. I don't know. Either way, I'm getting Guitar Hero 2 for Christmas, and if you have Trogdor for Guitar Hero 2, I guess you really don't need a guy. Hmmm...
