i've just read an observation/musings on Ten/Rose by
dark_zephyr which really interested me, especially the end which i was intrigued to copy and paste here. but i didn't write. i just found in interesting. so i put it here...
'one very important thing that i don't think has been discussed much is that rose had the time vortex in her far longer than the doctor and though it caused a regeneration in the doctor which is a very big deal, it just caused rose to pass out. i think it would really be a shame if they don't revisit this very important bit of plot in future episodes. the time vortex has the ability to take away life and give life--we saw this in potw. it also changed margaret the slitheen back to an egg. how could it possibly have done nothing to rose? and does it make any sense that rose has not questioned the doctor about how they got away from the daleks if she has no memory of the event?
the writers have the ability to take this in a very interesting direction: perhaps the time vortex has given rose a much longer life, one that could match the doctor's. maybe she now has regenerations--the perfect way to have them actually admit their feelings for each other and not have to worry about actors changing for rose. also, if the storyline got old, rose could always break away with her newly found lives and travel a bit on her own. i don't know. but i do think that the time vortex issue was either poorly thought out by the writers or is going to be revisited. because, really, rose should have died in potw given what happened to the doctor. he doesn't have magical healing powers as far as i know...so i'm definitely interested to see how the writers deal with this, if they deal with it... what do you all think?'
