EP 12 - CAPTAIN JACK HARKNESS

SYNOPSIS - Whilst investigating an old, derelict dance hall, Jack and Tosh are transported back to the 1940s, during the Blitz. Owen, Ianto, and Gwen realise, in modern day, that this has happened, and go in search of clues Tosh may have left. Meanwhile, back in the forties, Jack meets a very interesting man. One with the name Captain Jack Harkness...
MY THOUGHTS - Absolutely incredible. Probably defiantly my favourite episode of the series. It was beautiful, and I loved everything. It was a Jack episode, (and they were utterly wonderful), but it still concentrated on the other characters. Tosh had a great big part (hurrah!) and used her smartness and reserved compassion. Ianto was being loyal to Jack and keeping his head, showing his potential above his receptionist role, whereas Owen was being rash and using his higher authority to get his own way, convinced he’s doing to right thing, and also showing how he still misses Diane. It was genius to have these two characters together for the episode, to show how different they are, that they’ve been/are going through the same experiences but make different choices and have different views. And congrats to Ianto for shooting him in the shoulder, that jerk deserves it. Oh, and minimal Gwen for once, success! Yes, This episode is truly made of Awesome.
BEST BIT - The ending was one of the most spectacular scenes I have ever scene. Its so heart-breaking and beautiful, the ultimate doomed love story. Also, like I said, I loved the scenes with Ianto and Owen, and Ianto’s loyalty to Jack. Oh, and the bit where Tosh cuts her hand to write in her own blood. God, that scene is ALWAYS gonna stick with me. Every time I think of it I have to hold my hands together. Yes, I’m a tad squeamish.
WORST BIT - Nothing. I loved everything. I think Cath Tregenna is one of my favourite TW writers now, this episode and Out Of Time were great.

EP 13 - END OF DAYS

SYNOPSIS - With the Rift having been opened, people and objects throughout time are falling through it, and being spread across the world. "The thing in the darkness" has finally come, and Jack realises that he is the only one who can save planet Earth from the destruction that "the son of the Beast" will cause.
MY THOUGHTS - BEST SERIES FINALE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I mean, the DR WHO series finales are amazing, but this was something extra special. Probably the most fantastically traumatic 50 minutes of my LIFE. I spent the entire time clinging onto my little sister like a baby, screeching crying and squeeing all the way through, and left me feeling happy and depressed at the same time. They couldn’t of ended the series ANY better. Complete awesomeness. And better than seven series of Buffy finales, let me tell you.
BEST BIT - Urm. Despite having seen it three times already, its still too much of a fantastic traumatising blur to pick out any particular moments of awesomeness. I’d prefer to think of it as one whole thing, wholly made of awesomeness, rather than picking on different scenes and leaving out others when they’re just as wonderful. Oh but i did love the Brokeback Mountain moment with Ianto holding Jack's coat *cries*. and I effing LOVED Owen’s face when Jack kisses Ianto! LOLZ. And can I just take this opportunity to say, I LOVE the characters of Torchwood SO MUCH. EVEN Owen. Lol. And that OMG Bilis Manger is so FANTASTICALLY evil and totally kicks the arse of every other villain in Sci-Fi. Oh yh.
WORST BIT - If it had to picked at, a lot of people have complained about the slight lameness of the special effects for the monster. But actually I thought it was quite cool, so no complaints here. IT WAS AWESOMENESS. END OF.
