TORCHWOOD REVIEW

EP 10 - OUT OF TIME
WRITTEN BY - Cath Tregenna

SYNOPSIS - Three passengers from 1953 arrive in modern day Cardiff, when their plane flies through the Rift. With no means of travelling back, each person must adapt to their new life, starting personal relationships with the separate members of Torchwood.
MY THOUGHTS - I like that although the episode was about three people and their new lives, we also got to see how they effected the lives of Owen, Jack and Gwen too. It was kinda like three love stories. Well, one love story. And one story of being able to identify and relate with each other. And one about friendship, an almost mother/daughter relationship, what with the sex talk and stuff, which was brilliant. The ultimate fact now being that Gwen-is-a-big-fat-lying-slut, (except that she’s also very lovely and good and not actually in any way fat.) Ianto still got a reasonable role, but I’m starting to think Tosh is turning invisible for all the lack of her we’ve had lately.
BEST BIT - The supermarket scene was awesome. And I loved the end. I would of cried, if my twelve-year-old sister hadn’t been doing her hilarious Owen impressions, i.e. pulling stupid faces. It was SO sad though. Not so much Gwen, but I can’t believe Jack actually let John die. And I CAN’T believe Diane left Owen! I wanted to hug him. I was actually shouting ‘DIE YOU BITCH!!‘ at the screen at the end. Yes, I love Owen now. Leave me alone.
WORST BIT - Where the hell was Tosh? And Jack/Ianto for that matter?! The domestic thing is cute guys, but don’t deny us stopwatch action, dammit!
RATING - * * * * - Although it should get three stars, coz technically the episode wasn’t THAT much better than ‘Day One’ and ‘Random Shoes’ (which I still think were really good episodes by the way) but I’ve given it a whole extra star for the fantastic character development. Oh, except with Tosh. Oh well.
QUOTES - ‘Welcome to the wonderful world of scantily dressed celebrities’
- ‘Of course, bananas are far more interesting’
