If indeed we are heading toward, 'the end', as you say, there is little that we may do to prevent it. We must pray and accept such a fate with dignity, must we not? I do not like to think that this is the afterlife - it is not at all how Heaven or Hell are described.

Are the apples not delicious? We should take advantage of the bounty we have this week, and enjoy it while it is here.

If it is possible to slow the process, I should like to. But I do not think that we have a say in it, one way or another. But I should like the chance to live my life and enjoy it fully.

For all that I am glad of my freedoms here, I do miss him. He is my father, and I love him dearly. And I would hope that he would be proud to see me thriving in this place, rather than wilting.
