[Tap. Tap. Tap. Fran is lightly drumming his fingers against something hard. It's an uneven beat, as if his thoughts lie elsewhere.]
[Tap. Taptap. Taptap. Taptaptap. Tap. Tap.]
[It's a long period of this tapping before Fran actually says anything.]
I snuck away from the rest of the group on that raid. I went to the inner city myself.
[Tap. Tap. Tap.]
It was easy to get pretty far in there, even with the animus changing the scenery.
[Tap. Taptap.]
They talked to me, and for once, they were coherent.
[The tapping stops. Fran has had a week since that day to go over the information that he learned, to at least try and eliminate some of the buzz that still sounds in his head when he remembers.]
The animus is made up of multiple people. One is named Thalatte, actually. All of them have different names, I think.
...
They don't want us here, that's the first thing. They don't want us to come back after we die. One of them said that it never was his intention to bring us back, he doesn't want us back because it's not like the "old days".
..And-
[Pause]
They didn't bring us here either. Or at least that's what they said. They seem to disagree among each other. Thalatte wanted to help me, but another was rather rude, saying that he disliked us greatly. Or, that's what I got, because they said that they were tangled together at points. They tried to talk separately, at least. They said it was easier.
But they also said that they're not all the enemy, that just a percentage are that they cannot calculate. Che. Leave it to them to be disorganized. But the last thing they said-
...
[The pause here is probably the longest in the post.]
They said that we needed to find the ones who fled, to stop them. Because "she" is coming, and we have to be careful.
...
Whether or not you believe me, I don't care. But this is what I heard from them.
[He goes silent, and the tapping resumes until the feed times out.]
