January 2011

Feb 01, 2011 12:27

Wow, time really goes by fast, I can't believe January is already over!

Jasper and I have been doing a lot of fun things such as going to a John Lennon/The Beatles expo, spending entire afternoons at children's farms, playing games on our Wii, watching movies together, working out at the gym, shopping/walking in the city, just spending quality time together. Jasper really is the best husband ever.

I went to see Claudia de Breij with Bart, my brother in law. Claudia really surprised me, her show was better than I had expected it to be.

I've been taking longer walks with Damie, which is good for both of us. It's still making me pretty anxious, going outside and all, but my will to not go home right away once I'm outside is getting stronger.

Paid a little visit to the dentist as well and for the first time in a looong time, there was nothing that had to be done! Yay! :) Hopefully it will stay that way for a long time.

January has also been the month that a date was set for my surgery. I have had appointments with the surgeon and the anaesthetist to talk everything through. It's official: they will take out my gallbladder on February 7.
It seems like my body wanted to let me know that I had made the right decision, because I spend a few hours at the ER due to terrible pain. They did a lot of tests and checked everything, to be sure I had no infections or whatever, and luckily nothing else is wrong besides me having gallstones. They did give me stronger pain meds, which deserves a *YAY*

A friend of mine, Stephanie, had one of her tattoos retouched, so I went with her. I love spending time at the tattoo shop. It does make me want to get more ink and therefor impatient, but that doesn't matter. It's always nice to be able to watch my tattoo artist as well ;) Every girl needs her eyecandy!

I have only finished reading 2 books this month, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer and "de Kleine Blonde Dood" by Boudewijn Buch. Safe choices, because I already knew it were good reads. I have started reading in "Sonny Boy" by Annejet van der Zijl. I've had that book for years, but never got around to actually reading it. I've only read a few pages so far, due to lack of concentration... I'll try to finish it in February!

I have seen 23 movies, which is pretty ok for just one month, right? :P The one that left the best impression was "Black Swan". The one that was the most disappointing was definitely "Halloween III". Now I know why I had never seen it before.
"The Social Network" was fun to watch as well, since I totally started to 'jump' on the couch when I saw Mark Zuckerberg posting on LiveJournal. Lol.
Here's the list of all movies I saw this month, starting with the last one I saw:
23. Eagle Eye (2008)
22. (Rob Zombie's) Halloween (2007)

When it comes to TV shows, I'm really happy that the winterstop is over for most shows! (I'm still waiting for Glee and SuperNatural and I hate waiting). I've watched the Mentalist, No Ordinary Family, House, Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl and the Vampire Diaries. I've also discovered the Walking Dead (finished the entire season) and BBC's Being Human.
