Yesterday was the Anathema concert at de Boerderij here in Zoetermeer. Because I didn't know if my body was up for standing the entire time, I took my wheelchair with me (very grateful I did that).
Doors opened at 7.30pm, we were there around 7.20pm. When we got in the people working there helped us out great, took us to the elevator and stuff. There were already a few people inside the concert hall, but thanks to a nice guy I found a spot front row so I could still see what happened on stage.
At 8 the first support act started, Petter Carlsen. It was his first gig in the Netherlands, so he was a little bit shy, but wow, what a voice. Loved his performance :)
After his performance I realised I had to go to the toilet :P It was pretty hard to get there because people had to get out of my way and stuff. Luckily everyone did once they noticed someone in a wheelchair was trying to pass ;)
After my visit to the toilet I was pretty sure I wouldn't get such a good spot near the stage anymore, but I was wrong! The nice guy from earlier and other people actually left the room where I stood open, so I parked there again, front row :)
The next support act was Long Distance Calling, they only did instrumental songs. They were very energetic and because of that the crowd became more energetic as well. The guitarist in front of me was having so much fun being on stage that it made me smile he entire time.
Around 9.45 Anathema came on stage, they were very pleased to see the place was so packed. Danny was standing right in front of me and I just loved his outfit, made him look sexy haha. He was wearing a Beatles shirt and a light jeans that had a sixties vibe and All Stars <3
The first half of the concert they played old songs, which was great. They really got the crowd enthusiastic :) There were also 3 little kids standing front row and in the middle of a song Danny gave them all a guitar pic, that was cute ^^.
I was very happy when they started to play "One Last Goodbye", since it's one of my favourite songs by them. It was beautiful, yet very emotional for me. Loved it. Jasper recorded it on my phone:

The second half of the concert they played ALL songs from their latest album, "We're Here Because We're Here". It was great and the crowd loved it!
After they played all the songs from their album, they went off stage and even though it was already very late (almost 12) everyone stayed for the encore :)
I'm very glad we stayed as well, cause 2 of my other favourite songs were played, "Are You There?" and "A Natural Disaster". They ended with "Fragile Dreams" and let Petter Carlsen sing a part of it as well, that was really cool.
I managed to record "Are You There?", it was beautiful, I had goosebumps all over (which actually happened a lot during the concert and I assure you, it wasn't cold in there).

It was an amazing night and I loved how they played for over 2 hours! Jasper and I had a perfect night. Before we went home I got myself a copy of Petter Carlsen's album on vinyl and got it signed by him! If you haven't checked out his music yet, you definitely should! I'll put one of his songs at the end of this entry :)
At first I was afraid that my wheelchair would maybe kind of ruin the experience of this concert, but it definitely didn't thanks to the people working at de Boerderij and the kind people giving me space and all. :)
