A lot of things have happened in the past couple of weeks, namely me moving to Toronto. First time on my own, college, blah blah blah. Unimportant, this is better:
PRETTY MUCH, YEAH. Let's count the ways this is awesome!
1. Kanye West!
2. Daft Punk!
3. Picture disc!
4. Takashi Murakami, who made Louis Vuitton tolerable for a while and now this! Pretty cool.
5. I briefly considered spending a fortune buying this on eBay a while back. Fortunately I decided against it and instead found it at HMV for, like, a tenth of the price.
I also saw Devendra Banhart last night! He was pretty awesome. He also undid all my forced efforts to not be shallow. He is fit!
I can't take good photos; I know this.
(Also: red suspenders? VERY YES.)
The show was excellent! It was a bit hard to get into, since the venue forced us to sit and he played a lot of slow songs at the beginning. Towards the end, however, there was toplessness and maracas and dancing and it was tremendously fun. He bantered quite charmingly, I should add. He also picked someone in the audience who'd recently written a song to come up and play it. The boy he chose was
Josh Penslar, who played 'This Is Not a Love Song'. I loved it, so I went up to him after the show to ask him if he has "um, like, a MySpace, or something?" while his girlfriend proudly clapped and giggled. The song was good when he played it. It isn't at all good on his MySpace. Devendra's drummer must've helped a lot.
I also saw Stars a while back, with the Hidden Cameras opening (though I missed most of their set, not knowing where to go). Having been reminded of my lack of eloquence when it comes to describing shows, I'll refrain from saying anything about this one--there isn't much to tell, really.
I met some of them, got their new album before it hit stores, got it signed. This is all I need in life to be happy, tru fax.
And here's a picture of my bed, because I like my Ikea duvet cover and the cement wall in my room. I...am really embarrassed by this entry, haha.
