Popping By
I've been working furiously on the new site for the past couple of days (although perhaps I wasn't working furiously so much as I was working blindly), poking at new buttons and clicking on different menus. It's been quite an education, and right now I'm adding some content into it before I release it into the wild where it will be seen by several people. My vision is greatly hampered by my lack of design skill, but I'm going to work out the wrinkles and hopefully not end up with something that embarrasses me. Well, any more than I already embarrass myself anyway.
Summer has certainly kicked in to Northern California, and today it was actually rather warm. It's strange to think that I was wearing a sweater last week, and used the heater as recently as Monday, but our summers are epic and tend to last for many months, so I'm not going to complain about the reprieve. I'll be whining come August 1st, I assure you.
My brother and brother-in-law and several of the kids are going to see "Super 8" tonight at the midnight showing and my brother was surprised I wasn't willing to come along. I'm dying to see the movie before some smartass ruins the surprises for me, but I cannot sit through a movie and give it my undivided attention when I've been up since 5:00 AM already, and will be up again by 6:00 tomorrow morning. I can't enjoy it like that. I'm saving it for this weekend, when I'm sure the theater will be plugged with people, and the people sitting near me will forget that they aren't sitting in their living rooms, which leads to lots of "Why do you think he did that?" and "Frankie, where's the Junior Mints? I know I gave them to you. Yes I did. Yes I did. I did so. Oh here, they are in my purse. Why do you think that guy just did that? Who is he again?" The idiots always find me. Always.
I've been lurking on LJ for the past few days, but I'm following posts regularly while I explore all the different ways I can screw up all of the work I've just put in to the site. I hope all is well with you. Now go get some ice cream.
