1) As I walked into the post office to drop off some mail, I was greeted with a chorus of cheerful chirping, courtesy of a box of chicks that was ( Read more... )

The sound of baby chicks peeping (hey if I can call things 'baby lambs' you can call things 'baby chicks' right?) is probably one of the cutest and cheeriest sounds in the world. Peep! Peep!

"As I drove home from the grocery store with the Hot Beggar..."

Good heavens, what will Chris say? :-D

I love your description of the universe's final attempt to turn your day around! So lovely. I'm glad the grumps were vanquished!

*gulp* You're right! It did read like I brought home the Hot Beggar!

I mean, he was cute and all, but he was really more of an outdoor cat, you know?

Sounds like a good way to wind up the day.

I have to admit, I had to go back and re-read the first sentence of #3... :-)

The Hot Beggar sounds like a better version of Hooters. Let's find some backers and a chef and make it happen.

I'm in love with that idea! We'd make a fortune! And Hot Beggars everywhere would be put to work!

Glad to read that you were able to break through your cranky mood and see the good things around you yesterday Matt. Must of been something about yesterday as I also woke feeling really lousy and had to literally drag myself out of the house and go to work. The first few hours were hard but then the crankiness disappeared and I too found lots to smile about and be grateful for.
Hey I missed your birthday - so here's a late happy birthday wish.

Perhaps yesterday was just a cranky day worldwide but only certain people were affected. People like us.

And thanks for the birthday wishes! I'll just consider you early for next year's event...
