Here is a story

Aug 28, 2008 18:56

I have a huge load of work to finish by tomorrow. My monstrously thick art history book calls me to do those notecards. I'll proably be doing those the rest of the evening. I'll even not go out to dinner with the rest of my family for art history's sake.

But for now, it's English.

We are supposed to read 3 short assigned pieces and choose a word from each piece we think is most important and write why. One of them was called "High Heels" by Arny Christine Straayer. I just finished reading it and the paper is now kind of wet and stuff. The last paragraph killed me.

I think I cry really easily now. Especially while I'm reading something. I don't think I used to be that way.

Wait nevermind I'm going to dinner.
If you want to read that little thing, gimme and heads up.

OKAY I'M BACK.

Dear LiveJournal,

Today, I traded my last year's Calc AB notes to my friend for a couple sheets of watercolor paper. She's in calc CD and forgot a lot of things and asked to borrow my notes from the previous year. Today was a 1-3-5 day so I had stats, gov, and psych.

Stats is a horribly boring class so far. I'm not taking AP, so the pace is slow. The textbook is green and says in bold yellow letters "ELEMENTARY STATISTICS" on the cover. Just looking at the word "elementary" makes me feel dumber. THE BOOK IS MOCKING MY INTELLIGENCE. Stats isn't even math. It's like logic. Not even Professor Layton logic. It's like "what kind of sample is this? Random? Systematic? Cluster?"

I've discovered AP Government to be my least favorite class. My teacher does nothing but talk about the elections and current events, which is good and interesting and everything, but will it prepare me for the AP  test? I suppose I'll just have to do self study and memorize the textbook. I don't really do anything except doodle in that class. Good thing we don't really get homework (SCORE!).

AP Psychology is okay. We read an article with interviews with various famous psychologists in history and it was interesting reading about the experiments they did (oh Stanley Milgram, you're a pretty swell guy). This is probably another class that I'll have to teach myself out of the book I guess. The teacher pretty much just reviews things from the book in a condensed form. The mental illness chapter is for second semester (Nooo! M-my favorite!). We'll get into dreams and sleeping brain activity stuff soon though so I'm looking forward to it.

Tomorrow I have AP Art History, Japanese, and AP English Literature.

Another assignment for english is to make a self portrait. Which is why I needed watercolor paper. I want to try out something awesome like Quentin Blake. He's pretty cool. He made illustration for a lot of Roald Dahl books that I loved as a kid.

Okay, if I spend any more time on the internet, I'll probably being working on english and art history until 3 in the morning. It's okay though, since I have an endless supply of tea leaves and hot water. It's times like this when I really appreciate being Chinese. We ALWAYS have tea. It's healthier than coffee too. Less chance of ovarian cancer!

Sincerely,
Lark
