I've gotten to the point where I'm going to decide what to do and what to not do, intentionally. My grades are all A's at the moment, with the exception of my Scorsese class which I've entirely neglected all term and have a C in. To save myself from certain Doom (aka, a letter grade of D), I need to do the essay which is due tomorrow at 6 pm. To do the paper, I need to watch one movie of my choice out of a list on the syllabus. (Choices are Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore; New York, New York; The Age of Innocence; Casino.) Next, I need to read a chapter and write up a reflection for Community & the Built Environment which is due on Tuesday. Then, for the same class, I need to create a Powerpoint on my topic of choice (trees in the South Park Blocks of Portland) to turn in by Thursday. After that I need to help research and write the group paper for Environmental Issues of Urban Planning (that my professor sprung on us all last Thursday in lieu of the in-class final... jerk...) which isn't due until Tuesday the 12th. I need to write up my summaries paper for Evil & Conflict Resolution, due on the 8th. I need to finish transcribing the oral history interview to present in class on Thursday. There's a possibility that I could have an extension on the transcribing as long as I can present the relevant data during the final class/potluck. Finally, I need to attend a final class session on Monday the 11th as well as write a final reflection, turn in my journal and essay for Community & the Built Environment...
Well, shit, there's not really anything I can intentionally not do. So much for my plan! And, really, this post is more for me than anyone else. "Then why post it for all of us to have to scroll through, huh?" I'm not really sure why. It's probably the same reason I don't just write this in my paper journal. When I figure the reason for that out, I'll let you know.
Update: Crap. The video store didn't have any of the movies I need for class. So I rented three other, non-class related movies instead: Tuck Everlasting, Tristan and Isolde, and Normal. Cheesy Disney romance, cheesy historical romance, and sex change romance. Yeah, I'm weird. I know this doesn't solve my issue for film class but I'll deal with that tomorrow when the library is open and I can try to check out the flicks from them.
