So, sometimes I feel like making a "real update" instead of just posting random ramblings. (Which there's nothing wrong with...) Maybe this is mostly just for me, maybe it's not. Anyway, if ya'll are interested, here's what's going on in my life.
School
I got an 'A' in the class that I finished last week, Natural Science Inquiry, which is required for my Bachelor of Science requirements. Surprisingly, that class was actually fun and I had a wonderful group to work with. Though, I wouldn't call it Natural Science since we focused on local transportation for the most part. The 'A' in the class raised my cumulative GPA from a 3.16 to a 3.20, which is great. Hopefully I'll do just as well with the Conflict Resolution course that I'm to be taking during the second summer term. I've gotten nearly straight A's (and a couple A-'s) the last few terms so I'm hoping that this will keep up as I've never been an A student in my life!
Work
I'm starting to get into working at the Gap. At first I kinda hated what I was doing, coercing customers to buy things that they may not actually want, but I think I was just overreacting. What I'm doing now is noticing what customers look at and then suggest other things that I think they might be interested in. And if they don't want it, I'm certainly not going to push anything. This week I'm working thirty-one and a half hours with my only day off being Tuesday. It's actually not as bad as I once thought. After all, I'm going to be gone the entire next week to Port Townsend, Washington for the Centrum Jazz Workshop and Festival which is my second job for the summer. This is a summer camp that I go to every summer (this will be my seventh summer) but this year I won't be participating as a performer. This year I'll be Assistant Dorm Counselor for the Underage Girls' Dorm. (That's 18 years old and younger.) I'm not getting paid but I am getting a free room, free food, free participation in any workshop activities I want to attend, and free concert admittance for the mainstage and club performances. If I weren't working as Assistant Dorm Counselor and just attending as a regular participant I would be paying nearly one thousand dollars. Eep!
Health
My mental health is pretty good. I mean, I feel happy with myself right now. I was needing a little bit of a pick-me-up lately but the Indigo Girls and Girlyman concert was enough to cure me of my doldrums. As for physical health, well, I'm working out every day in the fitness room of my apartment building for at least one or two hours a day. While walking, I can tell where my leg muscles are building up. It's rather neat, actually.
Etc.
I got the new 2005 quarter which has Oregon on it. The picture they (who's "they?") chose to be on it is Crater Lake. I think that's kinda lame. But I'm biased because I've never been there, I s'pose.
