For ch. 2 go that way <-

The sun has come.
The mist has gone.
We see in the distance...
our long way home.
I was always yours to have.
You were always mine.
We have loved each other in and out of time.
When the first stone looked up at the blazing sun
and the first tree struggled up from the forest floor
I had always loved you more.
You freed -

Gabriel slammed the book closed, and dropped his head to the desk.

“Why do we even have a book on love poems?” he asked, voice muffled by the desk.

“I believe you thought it would be good to have if you ever found your mate.” Castiel replied from the other room and Gabriel turned his head to glare at the wall that was separating the two of them.

“I’m not even going to dignify that with a response.” he mumbled to himself. Pushing up from the desk with a groan, the brown haired man left the library and headed for the kitchen.

“Gabriel, what are you doing?”

“I’m cleaning!” came the reply. Castiel saved his work and closed the laptop before heading into the kitchen.

“You cannot get them off of your mind, can you?” he asked as he watched Gabriel scrub a spotless counter top. Gabriel sighed softly.

“No I can’t.” he whispered. Turning around Gabriel wadded up the washcloth before he threw it at the sink. It landed next to the sink dry and folded. Amber eyes met blue before Gabriel turned away to look out the window.

Castiel walked over to his brother and wrapped an arm around his waist. Gabriel would never ask for comfort, but there were times he craved it. Leaning against his taller brother, Gabriel closed his eyes and allowed Castiel’s grace to comfort his own. Castiel watch the lake behind their house, allowing the movement of the water to ease him in to a meditative state.

“Do you miss heaven, little brother?” Gabriel asked softly. Castiel jumped slightly at the sound of his brother’s voice.

“I do not remember much of it. Just black clouds, lighting, shouts of anger, and the sounds of battle.”

“I forget you were a fledgling when I stole you.” Castiel reached up to pinch and twist a piece of Gabriel’s skin in chastisement.

“You saved my life.” Castiel leaned back to trace a scar that ran across Gabriel’s back through his shirt. Even through his clothes the scar was cooler than the rest of his skin.

“They never should have entered the nest.” Gabriel murmured softly, his voice carrying an echo of distant thunder at the memory.

A soft shout from upstairs drew them apart. With a single wing beat they were upstairs and in front of the door to the room where they put their guests. The door opened with a touch, showing the blond was kneeling on the floor next to his bed. His back was to the door, revealing welts, scars, and bruises created a sick pattern across his skin.

Gabriel snapped a tube of pain reliever cream into his hand. At the snap the man assumed a submissive position, sitting on his heels with his hands wrapped around his elbows behind his back, back straight, head bowed. The young man looked over his shoulder, eyes on the floor, before he looked up Gabriel’s body. When he saw the tube, he bent over and raised his butt into the air. He reached back and grabbed his cheeks and pulled them apart, giving Gabriel and Castiel a clear view of his hole.

“Please fuck me master.” He whispered. His voice rough and tight from screaming last night.

Any other time Gabriel would have been all over the boy, running his hands over his back and hips, working him into a frenzy. But not when his hole was red and swollen, clearly having been over used and abused.

The Martin brothers came into the room and gently grabbed his upper arms. Urging him to stand. The boy tried, but he wasn’t even half way up before his legs buckled. Castiel easily swept him up and placed him on the bed.

“Roll over,” Gabriel instructed quietly, “What’s your name kiddo?” The young man pressed his face into the pillow before answering.

“Wab ver ou ant masger.” Gabriel started working the cream into the young man’s shoulders with a light touch before he replied.

“I’d hate to tell you this kiddo, but the pillow isn’t going to talk back. Now, turn your head and tell me your name.”

“Whatever you want master.” Gabriel just arched an eyebrow before he reached down, grabbed a hold of the young man’s ankle, and tickled the bottom of his foot. The young man squealed in shock before trying to curl up and away from the tickling.

“What’s your name kiddo?”

“Dean.”

Amber eyes met green. “Hello Dean. The guy lurking in the corner is my brother Castiel. And I’m Gabriel. Your safe here, kay? No one’s going to hurt you. Do you know who gigantor on the bed over there is?”

Green eyes took in the body lying on the next bed. Dean turned to look at Gabriel, who had resumed working the cream into the younger man’s back.

“His name is Sam…” Dean stated. Gabriel just nodded his head, but never stopped what he was doing. Gabriel worked in silence until he reached the middle of Dean’s back.

“Do you want us to put the two of you in separate rooms?”

“NO!” Dean shouted as he shoved himself up off the bed. Castiel put a gentle hand on his shoulder and urged him to lay back down.

“It’s alright Dean. We won’t separate the two of you.” Gabriel resumed working on his back, humming softly under his breath. Castiel grabbed a little bit of the cream and started working it into the bruises on Dean’s face.

Gabriel reached the small of Dean’s back when he saw something black on the younger man’s left hip.

“Dean, roll towards me.” There on Dean’s hip was a black tattoo that cut across his skin like another scar. “What is this?” Gabriel traced the mark with light fingertips, as if he was afraid to push too hard.

“Slave mark.” came the reply like Gabriel was an idiot. Dean was tickled again for his trouble. “It’s a permanent mark demoting my status for the rest of my life. Sammy has one too.” The last sentence was whispered.

Gabriel was over at the other bed in three steps. He looked at the exact same tattoo on the other young man…Sam. Gabriel then leaned over Sam’s face. He tapped Sam’s chest twice. Dean pushed himself up onto his forearms.

“I know you’re awake, so you can open your eyes.” Gabriel smiled when blue-green eyes met his. “Much better. And your brother’s fine so stop worrying.”

“How did…”

“How’d I know? I’d be acting the exact same way if Cas was the one laying in the other bed. Ever since we walked into the room, you’ve kept all of our attention on you, Dean. And most of what you did was testing boundaries to see what we’d let you get away with, and how’d we react if you over stepped those lines. Like I said when I walked in, no one’s going to hurt you here… at least not intentionally.”

Gabriel walked over to a door that was tucked in between the foot of Sam’s bed and the wall. He rapped the door with his knuckles.

“Bathroom through here. Tub and shower are separate and there are towels in the linen closet, same thing with bed sheets if you need to change them for whatever reason.” Gabriel pointed to the small dresser that was at the foot of Dean’s bed. “Clothes are in there. Right now it’s just shirts, pants, sock, and underwear. Sam, most of the stuff that should fit you will be on the right. Dean your stuff will be on the left. My suggestion, if you’re comfortable with it, don’t wear a shirt until your backs are healed. And try to sleep on your stomachs as much as possible.” Gabriel clapped his hands together.

“Speaking of your backs, Sam roll over and let me take a look. Cas will go get us food,” Gabriel turned to look at his brother, “Fruits, breads, some honey and a little bit of milk for the boys. And then the four of us are going to sit down and talk about what we’re going to do next.”

A/N: the poem I used at the beginning is called ‘In and Out of Time’ and it’s by Maya Angelou. I wanna thank my beta vyxenskye who put up with this craptastic chapter I spit out. Anyway, see you guys next time.

B/N: vyxenskye would like to point in that she did not think this chapter was craptastic. In fact it was very interesting. :D
