HULK SMASH!

Jun 13, 2008 06:12

yes, I shotgun posted. I thought that this deserved it's own post. Incredible Hulk? not as good as Iron Man, but still pretty good.

please keep in mind that I say this as a movie fan, not as a Hulk fan, cause I'm not that big of a Hulk fan. I couldn't even sit through the first one. 45 min in, I had to do something else. it was 4 am, I wasn't tired, and I had nothing to do... but I had to find something else to do.

This one, I watched it... watched the last half hr... and I expect to watched the movie again some time soon.

The CG isn't as good as it should've been, which does take away from the action sequences a little. One the other hand, once you get past that, you won't care.

pretty good story, doesn't follow the comics as much as some might hope, but I think it got the spirit of the characters.

also of note, I have read that somewhere around 70 min was cut from the film before release. This includes scenes from the trailers, such as Banner wandering in the snow and the talk with Lenard Samson (I don't think they ever actually mention his name, I just assumed it was him and didn't have time to check the credits). The Hulk/Abomination fight looks like it was cut about it half from the 26 min we were originally told it would be. This isn't to say that the fight isn't awesome, or that the story doesn't work, it's more to say, we're missing out on some things, and they will probably be used to tear more money from us upon DVD release. Of course, you should still see it in the theatre to preserve my livelihood, and because I doubt your TV is 90 ft wide. Who wants to wait that long to see Hulk done right anyway.

In short for the year
Marvel: 2
DC: soon to have 1
Everybody else: eh, who cares their movies don't occupied cars being thrown and used as weapons
