Tonight, I went out with a lot of people I work with at Pusser's for one of the bartender's 27th birthday. He went out to dinner with his girlfriend and two of his roommates, and was surprised as he walked into the Pusser's bar and saw a bar full of people that he hadn't had the chance to hang out with since even before the boat show (mid-October).
Later on in the night, we started talking about birthdays and I told him about how I thought your birthday was really the only day in the year that everyone treated you more special than any other day. But he added on to it and said the best thing to your birthday is knowing that so many people want to spend the day with you, even going out of their way to surprise you...showing that they actually give a shit about you.
A birthday is just any other day. Hey, I just turned 21 years and 363 days today!!! But it really is nice, just for one day throughout the year, to be surrounded by people that care about you and want to be there to celebrate just another number.
