Movie / TV Show: Roswell: New Mexico
Character(s): Michael Guerin and Maria DeLuca, with mentions of Alex Manes, Max Evans, and Liz Ortecho.
Submission: I rewrote the scene where Michael and Maria get together while they are in Texas. I have nothing against Maria, but I don't like them together in the show. So it never happened.

Songs About Texas

Michael let out a sigh as he followed Maria out into the dark, chilly night of Texas. She was leaning against the back of her Chevy pickup truck, which was a truck that Michael liked, she had good taste in vehicles. Maria had a blanket wrapped around her shoulders, trying to ward off the cold. She looked like she was in deep thought about something or another. Michael didn't know for sure why she was done here in Texas with Liz. He never asked them. "You got another one of those?"

Maria reached into the back of the truck and grabbed a blanket out, throwing it Michael's face. "There, that's better," she said with a smirk.

Michael wasn't sure why she was always dissing his looks. He couldn't help but smile slightly at the look on her face. She was amused. Maria was gorgeous after all, and her smile made her even prettier. Michael adjusted his cowboy hat and then looked down at the blanket. It was a beautiful blanket. He leaned against the tailgate of the pickup beside her and let out another sigh.

"What are you doing out here, there's an entire bar full of women that know nothing about you?" Maria asked him her smile fading from her lips.

"I am just trying to get some fresh air, sobering up," Michael said, turning his gaze onto Maria.

Maria hummed, "fresh air is overrated," she lit a cigarette and then started to walk off, "and so is sobering up." She was sure that Michael would follow her.

Michael let out another sigh and watched her for a few minutes. He was more than a little drunk. He knew what Maria wanted from him, but all Michael could think of was Alex right now and how much he wished it was Alex standing here with him and not Maria. Sure he had been flirting with her ever since she stepped out of her truck earlier. Michael was a flirt; he couldn't help it. It wasn't like he had a thing for her. The problem was, Maria didn't know about him and Alex, no one knew about him and Alex. Other than Alex's father, who had left a permanent reminder of how horrible he was. Michael glanced down at his hand and let out a hiss. The pain was too much sometimes, but it was what it was.

Maria glanced back at Michael when she realized that he wasn't following her, "are you coming?" She let out a slight giggle.

Michael chewed on his bottom lip and shook his head, "I'd rather not."

Maria's giggle turned into a sharp chuckle, "excuse me, is the Michael Guerin turning down an invitation to have sex?"

Michael bit down on his lip harder until he tasted blood, "yeah, I guess so..."

Maria let out a sound that clearly said she was more annoyed with him than usual. She made her way back towards him. "Why did you follow me out here then?" She couldn't keep the annoyance out of her voice.

Michael lowered his gaze and readjusted his hat again, "I was just trying to get some fresh air."

Maria put out her cigarette and stepped into Michael's space. She knew that he was pretty drunk, but she had never known him to turn down sex before. "Are you sure you don't want this?" Maria leaned in and kissed him, bumping her forehead against the brim of his cowboy hat. She knew that Michael couldn't step away from her, so she held the kiss longer than she usually would have. Michael didn't kiss her back. Maria pulled away and let out a huff. "You flirt with me all the time, yet you don't want me?"

Michael pulled his bottom lip back between his teeth and let out a sigh. "I'm sorry, yes, I flirt, but..."

Maria let out another annoyed sound, "whatever, your loss!"

Michael knew that she was hurt by his refusal, but he wasn't going to sleep with her to make her feel better. "I am kinda seeing someone, I think..." Michael wasn't sure what he and Alex were.

"Oh really, who is she," Maria asked as she wrapped the blanket tighter around her self.

"I--I can't say..." Michael shrugged.

"Is it, Liz?" Maria asked in a shocked tone.

"What? No..." Michael let out a chuckle.

"Whatever!" Maria huffed again.

Michael sighed and set the blanket back down into the back of the truck. "I'm going to go see Max."

"Whatever." It was the only response that Michael got from her. She was clearly done with this conversation.
