Name: Marcia
Age: 22
Gender: Femme
Occupation (And do you like it? What would you like to do?): Currently in graduate school, working my way through as a teacher of English Composition and working in the writing lab. After I graduate, I hope to work as an editor for a publishing company.
Astrological sign (And do you think it applies?): Libra, and most of the time my daily is at least close to correct.
xx You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry… xx
Likes: Reading, watching television, watching movies (I consider myself to be a bit of a film nut), writing fiction and poetry, being a fan, pretty girls, listening to music 24/7, equality
Dislikes: Too much traffic, rude people, ignorance, Republicans, when my cat gets sick, unknown situations, being alone
Hobbies: see "Likes"
Talents: writing, teaching, editing...
Strengths: Honesty, adoration, intellect(?), passion
Weaknesses: Getting burnt out, OCD, depression, overplanning
What makes you the most…
Happy?: music, spending time with the people I love and doing the things that I love. Sometimes, spending the afternoon watching TV and reading a book with a bowl of ice cream can be the most blissful event to ever take place.
Sad?: When someone I love is suffering and I can't do a thing to change it.
Angry?: When stupid people do stupid things.
Silly/stupid?: Too much time being too happy will get me the equivalent of too much sugar/caffeine and life will turn into giggles and wonder. I don't get silly/stupid too often. I'm pretty level-headed.
Uncomfortable?: Having to interact in a professional basis with someone I hate or know obviously disagrees with me on something very fundamental.
xx With great power… xx
What’s your favorite/ideal superpower? Why?: I would say healing others, but I'm too afraid of the government to commit to that. I think I'll have to stick with something like instant translation with all languages or dream walking.
Who’s your favorite hero? Why?: To be honest, this changes a lot. Basically, any female in Marvel comics. Or, let me rephrase that. Any strong female in Marvel comics. Ones I usually list are X-23, Rogue, Karolina Dean, Julie Power, Sunfire, Kitty Pryde...
It’s okay, lots of us have fictional crushes. Do you have one? Who is it, and why are you so sweet on them?: Right now my biggest is Dr. Cameron from House, MD, but that's just because I've just gotten hooked on the show and Cameron is AWESOME and smart and she's getting tough and I'm so whipped. My biggest fictional crush is Ellen Page, and she's not fictional, so I shouldn't talk about it lest I get arrested. :P
Is there anyone you really admire? Who and why?: I would say Ellen Page, but half of that is my sexy parts admiring her sexy parts, so we'll skip that. I'm going to say my fellow teaching assistants who are in graduate school with me? And also my girlfriend. Because she's having a tough time in school, and she's being resilient, and that's a quality that I think is really awesome.
Would you use your powers strictly for business… or would you find more- let’s just say creative- uses for them?: I would try to keep them out of work, at least. But in my free time? Oh, you couldn't stop me from having fun with them if the powers matched up with fun-having-ness.
What would your costume look like?: I'd probably want to fit in with people so they wouldn't know that I was a superhero, so something pretty normal, but that I could obscure my face with, so maybe a scarf, or a jacket?
What would your arch nemesis be like?: Oh, I don't like having arch nemeses. Can I just move to another part of town? Could we have a debate instead?
Would be a part of a team? Do you have a certain one in mind?: I wouldn't mind being a part of a team, but I wouldn't keep quiet if their values started drifting away from mine. And it would be hard for me to take the back seat... so if they've already got a leader, tough luck. I'd be best off with a group of younger kids looking to me for guidance, but not constantly needing supervision. I might even have a fling with one of them. I never said I was good with morals... ;)
xx Then you know, justice has two sides… xx
Superman or Batman?: EW NEITHER. Superman is an arrogant asshole, and Batman is a rich asshole. Neither deserve to be called superheroes.
Captain America or Iron Man?: Again, neither. I'm anti-registration, but that doesn't mean I'm going to team up with an alcoholic.
Brawn or beauty?: Neither are required... I'd prefer brains, or agility. Beauty doesn't hurt. I did say I like pretty girls.
Leader or follower?: Leader. I couldn't take the fall for someone else's orders.
Shy or outgoing?: A bit of both.
Black or white?: Either. It's rarely that simple.
Meat or vegetables?: Hate veggies.
Secrets or lies?: Neither. I don't lie, and I don't keep secrets well, and I'd prefer if no one did either to me as well.
Courage or wisdom?: How about both!
Forgiveness or revenge?: Forgiveness.
Cruel or kind?: Kind with a dash of cruelty sprinkled on top. Just because I can.
Optimistic or pessimistic?: Pessimistic. Most of the time.
Serious or silly?: Serious.
xx With you, it’s just a gamble… xx
If someone begged you to kill them, would you do it?: Depends on the circumstances. Probably not.
You meet an alternate universe version of yourself. How do you react?: Actually, I've heard about this phenomenon enough that I'm not exactly freaked out. It's probably best that we don't interact much, so we exchange a few questions, try an decide if there's some kind of higher purpose involved, and then part ways.
Apocalypse time. What do you do first?: "Damnit. My schedule is already packed."
Lex Luthor is having lunch just a couple yards away from you. What do you do (if anything)?: "Lex who?"
Your best friend has been badly disfigured and rendered mentally unstable (á la Harvey Dent). He/she is about to kill someone! What do you do??: If I'm in a position to do something, I do. If not, tell the authorities and get her somewhere where she can't do what she's planning.
If you could only save one of these people, who would you save? Please explain your answer:
[ ] The ten-year-old pancreatic cancer patient (note: this type of cancer only has a 95% survival rate five years after diagnosis)
[ ] The kind old man
[ ] The alcoholic pregnant woman
[ ] The single father who gambled away his son’s college/trust/savings fund
[X ] The eighteen-year-old prisoner (note: he would be released)
I'm curious about the cancer kid and the pregnant woman and the single father, but I think the prisoner has the most chance for an actual life/turn around if I save them. Sure, it would look nice on the news if I saved the kid or the old man, but I've never been one for press anyways.
Which sin are you most guilty of?:
[X ] Pride
[ ] Envy
[ ] Lust
[ ] Gluttony
[ ] Wrath
[ ] Sloth
[ ] Greed
I had a hard time deciding on this. I settled on pride, because, for lack of anything else, I don't think I am guilty of any of them?
Anything else?: I'd prefer a Marvel hero over a DC hero, if we can request that.
