oOo
On the first page of our story, the future seemed so bright.
Kazuya sits at the foot of the bed, nursing the aching bump swelling on his head. He tells himself that it’s going to be okay. That they are going to be okay.
At the beginning of this relationship, they both promised that they were going to do their best. They knew it wasn’t going to be easy. They had a clear picture of the inevitable hardship ahead. Warnings were given, and threats even.
But they were in love.
Then this thing turned out so evil. I don't know why I'm still surprised.
“Hiding here?”
Jin enters the bedroom and strides toward Kazuya, his face showing nothing but disgust.
These fights are not uncommon. So are these headaches. He gets this every time he and Jin fight. Even his health doesn’t want to cooperate anymore. They are going to work it out, Kazuya assures himself. Work, and life as a whole, had not been easy on them for a few months now, and it seemed that the both of them tended to take it out on the relationship.
Even angels have their wicked schemes, and you take that to new extremes.
Kazuya glares back as Jin pulls at his wrist for him to stand up. For a second, Kazuya thinks Jin was going to hit him, and he defiantly stares, but no blow comes. Jin just stands there, staring down at Kazuya with a look of sorry disdain.
It had taken Jin quite a while to understand what Kazuya was. Kazuya was a damn cheat. An attention-seeking whore. And it was amazing how Kazuya had been playing this role all along without anyone ever believing that he was just like that in real life. Kazuya had the face of an angel, and the mind of a devil.
But you'll always be my hero, even though you've lost your mind.
“Does it hurt?” Kazuya hears himself say.
What is he saying? It was not like this before. When this relationship started, they were loyal to each other. They still are in love, but in a different, covert way now. One would have to dig in deep to find these feelings, but these are what they are holding on to, nothing else. Everything is a wreck, but Jin wouldn’t dare let go of Kazuya.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn, but that's all right because I like the way it hurts.
“Fuck you, Kamenashi,” Jin spat in anger.
Evidently, Kazuya doesn’t care if he offends. Does Kazuya still care about this relationship at all?
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry, but that's all right because I love the way you lie.
“That’s what you always do,” Kazuya mocks with a bitter smirk.
He’s done playing Jin’s games. Kazuya is tired pretending to be good and nice and a proper man all for Akanishi. But he loves him still.
Now there's gravel in our voices. Glasses shattered from the fight.
Finally, Kazuya instinctively closes his eyes as he feels a fist collide with his cheek, and the pain in the back of his head momentarily throbs.
Jin had been cheating on him. The infidelity is an unspoken truth between the two of them. It hurts, but Kazuya doesn’t really know how else they should be; he doesn’t want to think anymore. It’s sad that it has come to this.
In this tug of war, you'll always win even when I'm right.
Jin stares at Kazuya for a moment more, breathing in.
Kazuya could tell that Jin was rationalizing, telling himself that it’s okay to hit Kazuya because he deserved it. He was not at fault here. Kazuya was the one who cheated this time.
'Cause you feed me fables from your hand with violent words and empty threats.
Kazuya sits back down on the bed and stares up at Jin, his eyes questioning. He looks like an innocent boy, sorry for something he didn’t do. Jin will have none of that.
Jin is tired of Kazuya’s lies. But when he confronts Kazuya, the younger man threatens to leave him. Jin will certainly have none of that either.
And it's sick that all these battles are what keeps me satisfied.
Jin raises his hand again, but Kazuya catches it in his and stops Jin’s blow. Jin growls his disapproval, raising the other, but Kazuya catches that just as well.
Kazuya doesn’t like the fights, but he likes how he and Jin manage to negotiate every time. Never really arriving at a conclusion to remain faithful to each other, or perhaps hurt each other less. Just a wordless promise to stay together.
So maybe I'm a masochist.
“So you think you’re better than me?” Kazuya asks, his eyes daring Jin to say “Yes” and suffer the consequences.
They were just similar. They love each other, fuck each other, fuck others, lie to others, lie to each other, and to themselves. Somehow, it doesn’t make sense to stay faithful in a relationship that was so volatile to begin with, but just as remarkably, the relationship doesn’t vanish. Ever.
I try to run but I don't wanna ever leave.
But no, Jin doesn’t think he’s better than Kazuya.
Kazuya was Jin’s savior in so many ways when Jin thought he was losing track of his dreams and goals. It was Kazuya who reminded him of why he was doing what he did. Even when Jin decided to leave their group, Kazuya was there to support him.
‘Til the walls are goin' up in smoke with all our memories.
Jin cups Kazuya’s face in his hands and leans in for a kiss.
Perhaps he lives for that kiss alone.
It's morning, you wake, a sunray hits your face. Smeared makeup as we lay in the wake of destruction.
Kazuya jerks his head away and stands up.
So he wanted it this way, Jin thinks. To prolong their agony. Well, Jin can do that. Jin could probably do whatever Kazuya wanted him to do. Because Kazuya was the only one that really mattered to Jin. He was the only one whom Jin truly loved.
Hush baby, speak softly, tell me you're awfully sorry that you pushed me into the coffee table last night so I can push you off me.
Kazuya walks across the room, near the window. The rain rages on outside, the lightning frequently striking and illuminating Kazuya’s face, which seemed to be gaunt tonight.
Even at his worst, Kazuya stood for everything that was perfect and beautiful. Jin was no exception to the people Kazuya was able to hypnotize to get what he wanted.
Try and touch me so I can scream at you not to touch me. Run out the room and I'll follow you like a lost puppy.
Jin walks up to Kazuya, ever so gently, as if he were sorry for anything.
Over the years, Jin had learned a trick or two from his lover. He knew what to do to get what he wanted. Maybe that’s another reason they were still together. They wanted each other.
Baby, without you, I'm nothing, I'm so lost, hug me then tell me how ugly I am, but that you'll always love me.
Jin reaches out a hand and touches Kazuya’s cheek. He could feel Kazuya shiver under his touch.
Kazuya is so beautiful.
Then after that, shove me, in the aftermath of the destructive path that we're on, two psychopaths.
Jin grabs a fistful of Kazuya’s light brown hair and snaps his head back. Jin leans in again for a kiss.
Kazuya’s breathing is heavy, obviously anxious of the aggression.
But we know that no matter how many knives we put in each other's backs, that we'll have each other's backs ‘cause we're that lucky.
Jin bites Kazuya’s lip. Hard. He tastes blood.
Kazuya deserves it for cheating on Jin.
Together, we move mountains. Let's not make mountains out of molehills.
Kazuya gasps at the pain, and instinctively pushes Jin away.
Jin relents, and they go back to staring at each other.
You hit me twice, yeah, but who's counting? I may have hit you three times; I'm starting to lose count.
The anger in Jin’s eyes is gone.
Kazuya couldn’t tell what he was thinking.
But together, we'll live forever. We found the youth fountain.
A lone teardrop rolls down Jin’s cheek.
He pulls Kazuya to him by the nape into a crushing hug.
Our love is crazy, we're nuts, but I refused counseling.
“Don’t do this to me!” Jin sobs into Kazuya’s shoulder.
This house is too huge. If you move out, I'll burn all two thousand square feet of it to the ground.
Kazuya reaches his hands up to hug the older man.
Jin feels his hands, and looks Kazuya in the eye.
Ain't shit you can do about it. With you I'm in my fucking mind. Without you, I'm out it.
Kazuya closes his eyes and kisses Jin. He runs a thumb over Jin’s wet cheek.
Kazuya loves Jin, but somehow, Kazuya can’t feel sorry for him. Perhaps it’s his own pain. Jin had hurt him so many times before.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn, but that's all right because I like the way it hurts.
Jin kisses back, as his hands snake around Kazuya’s waist, resting at the hem of his shirt and beginning to raise the article of clothing.
Kazuya had been such a burden to his emotions, but he loved him. There was no other truth.
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry, but that's all right because I love the way you lie.
Cold hands roam warm, perspiring bodies, as the tangle of their legs blindly go in the direction of the bed. Clothes are discarded until they were both naked.
They both know. They are thinking the same thing. Both are wondering who else could have enjoyed this body today like how they were going to enjoy each other at this moment.
Love the way you lie.
Kazuya lay underneath Jin, tired and silent. Jin’s breathing is just returning to normal. Kazuya wraps his arms around Jin’s back, and Jin presses his lips lightly against the younger’s forehead.
They love each other, but both know the anger and torment is not going to go away any time soon.
This relationship began as risky and managed to become bad, and since then gone to worse, and eventually worst. They were both lost, and they had hit rock bottom. But maybe, just maybe, things would get better, just because it can’t get any worse.
~end~
oOo
Uhh, yeah, angst… xD
Thanks for reading this fic. I’d like to make a few advertisements announcements, so please do read on.
1) I’m currently working on a massive multi-chapter fic (about 20-30 chapters long, we’re still outlining) with two friends of mine, and I’d just like to take this opportunity to ask you all to watch out for it because it’s gonna be exciting LOL seriously, though, the main genres would be drama, smut, romance, and perhaps a little crack, NC-17 rating (or higher? Idk), and many, many pairings, with the main pairing as Akame AND MaruDa. Can I count on you to wait for it? Chyeaaaaa~ xD
2) I’ve mentioned some months back that I’m planning, together with some friends (same friends who’ll be working on the fic, actually) to put up a blog about Akame. Basically we’re going to analyze Akame interaction throughout the years using videos of them together. We wanted to do this because we studied Psychology in university and heck it’s gonna be fun and interesting. I shall announce here when the blog is up, so please do watch out for that, too, and we’d appreciate feedback from you guys!
So there, that’s what my life is probably gonna be about for a few months now that I’m done with school LOL so keep me, us, company and let’s explore Akame together, in fics and IRL! ♥
Back to Fic list!
