good news, bad news
on friday matt got an email at work that said his company would be giving out bonus checks on monday. the good news is that matt got his bonus check today and it is enough to cover everything we have left to do for the wedding. the bad news, the bonus email also said that it would be wise to not spend your bonus all in one place because many more lay offs are coming in february. his company has laid off a lot of people already but i guess that wasn't good enough.
i'm trying not to think about the lay off thing. matt is a very good worker and i know that his company likes him. however, plenty of good, well liked workers have been laid off recently, all over the country. that is the scary part.
the christmas vacation countdown is down to four and a half days now. they are going to feel like an eternity, i'm sure. the week before any vacation is horrible. all you can think about is your trip. you can't focus on work or anything else. i can't even read a book. i get too antsy. i need to be physically doing something or i start to fidget. this weekend i got most of my packing done, i volunteered, cleaned almost the entire house, clean out my car, took oscar to the park, went to church, cleaned some more. i had to keep myself doing things.
well, lunch is over now. back to work. only 3 hours left :)
