Well, today I just completed my first nine-hour day at work, and marks the next to last day I work this week. I just work from 2-6 on Sunday and then I get a day off thankfully.
As to how the job is, it's fine. It's definitely not hard work, but it definitely takes some time to understand all the methods and prodecures behind what I have to do. The only challenge is that so many situations come up every day that are slightly different than any other so I have to ask or improvise a solution and hope I didn't do something that was patently incorrect and system-disruptive. I think I'm coming along quite nicely, and once I get settled in I'll be fine.
The biggest adjustment, honestly, will be my eating schedule. I come in to work at noon most days and don't leave 'til six--which means I have to eat lunch beforehand--around 11am, since that's when I like to leave in case of traffic snafus and that sort of thing--which means I get hungry for dinner earlier. I have a 20-min break during my six hour shifts, so I've started having what might be termed lupper then to keep me going until I can get supper sometime after 7pm. Not that I had a regular eating schedule before, but the way it is now is going to mess me up for a while.
And the whole "working" thing is going to take some getting used to. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to have a job on a regular schedule, but consider the fact that for the past year I've basically worked when I wanted to, slept 'til I wanted to, and dressed how I wanted to and you'll see why a job on a regular schedule might take some adjustment.
Not much else to report, really. I've been so tired due to me adjusting that I haven't watched or played much in the last week. I did finally read a book though--a Mishima book David gave me a little while ago. I figure since I work in a Fiction department I should occasionally try to read fiction.
