Well, after a busy week last week, it was an utterly uneventful week for me. Basically I sat on my ass and played video games. I wanted to do more, but doing that managed to keep my mind off the upcoming verdict from Birmingham Public Library per the possibility of me getting employment there. I decided that I was going to wait to see what happened with this before applying for other jobs and/or doing something crazy. So, I'm in wait mode right now, but World of Warcraft is keeping me nicely distracted. Which brings me to this other thought.
Very likely one of the reasons I like role-playing games so much is that they are immersive enough that they take all of my attention, unlike something like say a football game that doesn't require as much out of the player. I have an overactive mind most of the time and to boot I have a tendency towards pessimism, so getting my mind to think about something other than the real-life-stuff I'm worried about at the moment is really nice at times. Hell, part of me thinks that Final Fantasy II is part of the reason I made it through middle school without going totally insane. That in mind, I played a bit too much this week very likely, but at least I'm saving money by not using gas. Yeah, that's the ticket. I'm REALLY doing it to keep from driving and creating more global warming. I'm playing WoW for Mother Earth, really. Yep.
Anyways, I'll probably feel a bit more sociable this upcoming week so phone calls will likely be made.
Edit: Apparently I left my MP3 player in the car for like 4-5 days without noticing it. That makes me feel really smart.
