I just got back from P.F. Chang's and indulged myself in part of a Great Wall of Chocolate, and it reminded me of the post-refund-check get-together that we had where two Great Walls of Chocolate were ordered, along with some other desserts. That was both ridiculous and a lot of fun.
Anyways, I'm hoping to know whether or not I'm going to get an interview for the Troy job by tomorrow or Tuesday. Since the person heading the search wrote me that they were going to decide this by the 3rd, I presume that phone calls will be going out this week--though I could be wrong. A lot else is going to be going on this week, however. Hopefully on Tuesday or Wednesday I'm going to look into getting contacts. I still like my glasses fine, but I just think it's time for a change in that department. Besides, I've had these glasses (or ones like them) since my junior year in school, so just for variety's sake I need to make a change. A haircut is in order as well, though I need to find a hairstylist first.
Another thing I'm doing (or rather, thinking about doing) is doing an internet radio station. Nothing fancy, just songs playing in sequential order over my connection. I'm not doing this because I'm trying to make money or anything, but just because it seems like just the sort of project that could keep me a little bit more focused. My main problem is deciding how I want to handle the streaming--if I use my own connection it's free, but it means I have to be careful about when it is and is not on so as to not interrupt normal use of the connection. But if I use webspace/streaming service I won't have to worry about royalties and all that mess and won't have to have my computer up for the station to be playing--however it will cost me a good deal of money and I will have a relatively small amount of webspace, so my playlists won't be quite as large as I would like them to be. Whatever happens, if I go ahead with it only five people will listen to it so I probably shouldn't think about it too much.
And hopefully, I'll have a lot of new music to listen to this week. I just bought Shonen Knife's Rock Animals and a Pretty Girls Make Graves album whose name escapes me at the moment, and have Long Knives Drawn by Rainer Maria, Don't Look Now by Way Out West, #1 by Fischerspooner, Team Boo by Mates of State and Louden Up Now by !!!
