Well now I am just pissed off

I think I've been pretty good about being patient with the Reynolds School District (yes, I know most folks cringe to hear the name).

I didn't fume at the fact that the school - Salish Ponds - couldn't confirm my son's grade-K registration all summer.

I didn't squabble at the fact that there was no information - WHATSOEVER - provided with regard to his enrollment or the status of the classrooms until the week before school started. (okay, maybe I did squabble a little - er, some - at that) Apparently, they expect most of the enrollment to happen at the last minute.

I stayed patient when grade-K started an entire week later than all the other grades and parents weren't informed until the Friday before the holiday weekend.

I didn't even freak out when I was told not to buy school supplies, just to give the teacher $20 cash.

But now I am pissed off to receive a letter from the school - after just one week, stating that the Principal is changing the schedule for grade-K. According to the letter there was a large unexpected jump in enrollment for the school year (that wasn't realized earlier? Are you kidding me that an "unexpected surge" of people wait to enroll their children until the school year actually starts?).

With this new schedule, my son will only be in school barely over 2 hours (compared with nearly 4 hours as it has stood this week). And if we're lucky maybe we'll get the am schedule that has my 5 year old waiting for the bus pickup at 7:10am.

He was in school longer for last years Preschool program. Funny.

So I guess I'll go eat some carbs and take a look at my alternatives. Argh.
