Some light reading for ya'll:
- I'm sure normally the FBI gets it right but this is just embarrassing. I mean... why would they need to hold the woman and her child at gun point? They knew they were after a man right? So like "lady and lady's lady child" didn't tip them off that either they had the wrong apartment or the wrong people? Seriously.
- Katie Couric cracks me up. Her entire reaction to being questioned on Lana del Rey basically condenses the overall stupidity of this whole thing. Like when she says, "oh you kids" at the end, I just wanted to facebook friend her. Yes Katie, your ambivalence is absolutely founded. Because honestly, we kids take this shit way to seriously.
- So this is what a cannibal and a vampire marriage looks like. It's really heart warming to see heterosexual love prevail over adversity and also murder and possibly mental illness. Cue the 50,000 jokes about how they'll eat each other by year's end.
- Thandie Newton seems sort of amazing. It's really weird how politicized hair can be, it's hair guys! And then we remember how politicized skin color is. Or facial features. Or clothing. The story about the braids was especially appalling. I think there's a difference between appearing presentable at school and simply epxressing yourself. Some schools might see baggy jeans as a security issue (guns etc...) but cornrows? Really? How are braids threatening? ::shrugs:: Also I really need to see that Chris Rock doc about hair.
