Building Rubix: Week Three, Cameron
It's time for another update from Rubix, and this time, it's the turn of the Cameron family. I absolutely adore playing this family, for reasons you'll soon see in the update.
The Cameron family currently has only two members, LaShawn and her adopted son, Berjes. On Monday, LaShawn had found a new hobby, while Berjes was succeeding in school.
He was also succeeding socially. I don't think there was ever a day Berjes *didn't* bring someone home from school. This is Simon Loreen, him and Berjes are pretty good friends.
LaShawn spent most of week two flirting with Craig Ray, and by the time Monday was closing in week three, the couple were very much in love.
Craig moved in, and brought in a fair amount of cash with him. I like him. :D
Craig took a job in the Business career - I want a business district, dammit!
It also wasn't long before Berjes grew up, making him the second teenager in Rubix. Hooray!
Berjes rolled Fortune. I haven't noted down his LTW, so I'm assuming it was career-related.
I didn't even realise Berjes now has the same hair as Craig. Oops.
But that's not the important part of this picture. LaShawn and Craig's engagement! Yay!
True love is having a wedding in your pyjamas with someone dancing the smustle behind your husband, clearly.
Craig Ray has become Craig Cameron, and Berjes has gained a step-father.
The next morning, LaShawn and Craig adopt a child - Gordon Cameron. Unlike Berjes, both LaShawn and Craig count as his parents.
And if you're wondering why they adopted instead of having the baby themselves...well, I just like adopting in the Cameron family. It feels like some sort of tradition.
That same day, LaShawn opened Cameron Cuddlies - a place to sell all the bears she's been making on the sewing machine.
And it went pretty well. Stocked up with other toys, too, and the business was rank two by the time LaShawn left.
And no, I'm not sure why that townie needs a rabbit head, either.
"You must be the child we adopted today! Hi, I'm your new father!"
"Um, Mister, I have a dad...I came home with Gordon..."
"Is Gordon one of your friends from school?"
"Um..."
"Alright, I got a son!"
Craig did eventually realise his child was not Sharla Ottomas, but Gordon.
Also, it turns out Gordon is incredibly playful.
"How about we have our own baby, Craig?"
"But we just phoned the adoption service. They're coming by at 10am tomorrow."
"The more the merrier!"
"Well, when you put it like that! Let's woohoo until you fall pregnant!"
You know, I've never seen this before. I didn't even know this existed in the game - and it's incredibly sweet. Berjes is reading Gordon to sleep!
Even after all these years of simming, there's still some things I don't know.
Another day, another adopted child.
I'm hoping for a girl this time. Rubix has loads of boys already.
Success! This is Elise, everyone!
And hooray for another Cameron child. : )
Elise is going to fit right in with this crazy family.
LaShawn looks really surprised that she has a baby bump.
You know, I thought this was her first bump, but I think it might be her second.
The next day, LaShawn and Craig add another child to their brood. Jeannie Cameron!
I am having a blast playing all these kids, seriously!
That night, Berjes brought a girl home who he really liked. Denene Bachman. Seeing as Berjes has been so helpful, with all the kids and everything, I let him pursue it.
"Hey, Denene, I think you're really cute,"
"Aw, really?"
Of course, nothing spoils the mood like your stepfather electrocuting himself on the PC. It's okay, Craig lived. It just caused a lot of attention.
"Now that we know my Dad's okay, how about we pick up where we left off?"
I think Berjes and Denene are very sweet together.
You know, the hobby instructors sometimes creep me out.
"I'm just going to stand here and watch your children play..."
Elise's birthday rolls around, and there's so many members of the Cameron Clan that we don't need to bother with a party.
Yet another plus of enormous families.
She's cute! I think she's going to be quite pretty when she's older. :)
LaShawn couldn't make this family shot because she was too busy sleeping. The pregnancy's been quite hard on her, to be honest. She hasn't been back to the business, simply because it's been too difficult.
Denene stops by for hugs and kisses. They're almost at the level where they can go steady, but not quite yet. I still have Denene pencilled in as Berjes's girlfriend, regardless.
But of course, Denene can't come over without some kind of situation happening in the house - it's baby time!
As the week ends for the Cameron family, they also welcome another girl into the family. Celeste Cameron!
But that is all for week three with the Camerons. Looking back over it, it seems rather short, but it was a lot of fun to play :)
