I misplaced my prosperity neighbourhood, and while I'm pretty sure it's on the USB stick at home, I won't be able to get there until mid-February. So I just started a new one for the time being, just to play.
Initially, I liked Heather's idea with her neighbourhood,
Northmill, and starting off with one of each supernatural sim. But I decided that was too many sims for me to start off with, and just made four ordinary founders.
From top to bottom, we have John Verse, Nathan Higgs, Sofia Wilson & Victoria Prachett. Victoria randomised as bisexual, the others all randomised as straight.
But, um, Vicki was able to change that somehow...
I decided to roll with it. Saves playing four households when I can get away with playing three, right? So the boys wandered out into the 'hood on their own, while the girls went together.
This is the Prachett home. I wish I could take credit for it, but it's based on a house I saw in a challenge on one of the old boolprops. I couldn't even tell you what challenge it was.
Anyway, if Victoria and Sofia decide to have kids (one of them is Romance, the other is Fortune), I'll convert the study into a nursery. Or something.
John got this house, which I showed you a few weeks ago when I first built it. He's a family sim, so I figured he could use the space. Although, most of the space is empty at the minute, seeing as he's all alone. Only the ground floor is furnished.
And then Nathan, the Knowledge sim, lives here. When I first loaded the lot, I got distracted by something, and when I came back, Nathan had filled two jars with butterflies and was working on a third. So I decided nature could be his thing, and so now he had to live off the land.
Nathan also has a girlfriend living with him, Sandy Vijayakar. They're not ready to tie the knot yet, but I don't think it'll be much longer.
Anyway, that covers all of the sims and the properties on Puffin Island, here's what the 'hood itself looks like:
Somebody please tell me I'm not the only one who names the roads. How else am I supposed to know what to name lots?
Plus all of the street names have purpose -
- Spring Lane, because that's the first season on Puffin Island;
- Rose Street, because the historian of my hometown had the surname Rose;
- Lyndon Avenue uses Rob's middle name;
- Louise Close uses my middle name;
- Milgram Road is named after the psychologist Stanley Milgam as I was writing an essay on him this week,
- Dovey Avenue is named after my favourite lecturer from last term.
Smuggler's Walk was a random one. No idea how I came up with that.
Anyway, that's all I have for now. Hope you're all well!
