I had a rough day today, so I rewarded myself with a little bit of time to myself to just play the sims, so you get some spam! I've been playing TS4, exploring it a little more - although not much, as I still need to get a proper mouse instead of my touch pad.
Anyway. Enjoy!
"Look, Rob! We're in the Sims 4 now!"
"And I'm still devilishly handsome!"
"You only think that because Real!Rob made you."
"Well, whatever."
"There's a whole new GAME to explore, Rob! I'm so excited!"
"Yippee."
"Try to sound a little more enthusiastic."
Yeah, I decided to playtest with the sims Rob and I made of ourselves using the demo. I'd like to change sim!Sam's outfit, but I haven't quite worked out how to do that yet. Anyway, they seemed like the right choice for test subjects :D
Anyway, right away I found things to love in this game.
"Prepare for hell, frying pan!"
Like sim!Rob cooking? Hilarious! Some of the small details like this are fantastic :)
Sim!Sam had a wish or a whim or whatever it's called to pull faces in the bathroom mirror. I'm pretty sure I should state as a disclaimer that I'm not that mad, but it would be a lie.
I mean, who hasn't occasionally pulled faces at themselves in a mirror?
Oh! Here's another fun thing I love, the I-really-need-to-pee walk. Sim!Sam doesn't look phased by Rob's awkward shuffle to the bathroom. I should probably mention they're living in a maxis-made hovel, so the layout isn't the best. I'm still learning how to build and haven't tried it on their house yet.
On an unrelated note, I think TS4 feet look odd. But that might just be me.
I figured you'd like to see what the sims look like up close. I love the appearance of this game, and the sims are great! Sim!Sam's hair is slightly redder than my actual hair colour, but I set as that one otherwise it would have been identical to Rob's - who has darker hair than me in real life.
Because you TOTALLY needed to know that.
Oh, and while I have Rob in the park, you totally need to see how pretty this game is. Seriously:
See? Totally gorgeous! I am in love with this game! All of my shots look pretty, which is great - I like having a sims game that is effortlessly pretty to look at. My TS3 could never run well enough to look very pretty, and yet TS4 isn't on the highest setting and looks amazing!
Back to Sam and Rob. Well, people had been saying that building up relationships is hard, so I wanted to experiment with that. To be honest, building up a romantic relationship felt easy, whilst friendship seemed a lot harder.
Also, I really like the lighting in this picture.
The first kiss did look a little awkward, though. Well, I suppose first kisses are, but I'm pretty sure it's not a kiss until the lips touch :) And to be honest, judging by Sam's expression, I thought she'd turned him down.
Apparently not.
Other interactions were really awesome though.
"You can only have this rose if you do the dishes."
"I'm sold."
I know that multi-tasking is a massive feature of this game, but I think this is taking it a little too far. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Sam decided to read in there, but who knows. It could be toilet story time.
"And he cried up to the window, 'Rapunzel, let down your golden hair!' and-"
"Sam, would you please GET OUT."
Eventually, the inevitable happened, and I got curious about genetics and pregnancies and children...
"Guess what, Rob! I'm pregnant!"
"You're joking, right?"
Rob didn't seem thrilled, if I'm honest. Maybe it was related to his emotion at the time, I don't know.
So this is where I'm at now - domestic bliss. Sitting around watching tv with your heavily-pregnant wife is domestic bliss, right?
That's all I have for now, but no doubt I'll have more soon.
Hope you're all having a good weekend!
