Play-testing a challenge, based on a post I remember from old boolprop.
The idea is "a towering legacy", ten generations in an 8x8 building on a 2x2 lot, where you add a floor each time a new generation is born. I'm only going to play five generations - or that's the plan at the moment - and I've added to the rules to try and make it a little more challenging/interesting.
I am planning to share it eventually, and the ruleset. Though I feel awkward about that, because I can't exactly take credit when it's based off something I read on old boolprop.
Anyway, here's a couple of things from my play-test so far...
My founder, Aurora Stone, and her husband, Dorian. I have a hack in that allows townies to spawn with the elf template or the alien template, and I have to say, I love it. I'm very excited to play with Dorian's genes.
Here's the tower so far. I only started playing at the weekend, so I haven't got very far yet. But I'm quite happy with how things are going - I can already tell I'm going to want to shift the layout around on the inside as generations pass, but we'll see.
The exterior could also use some work. That wallpaper? Eugh. Also some landscaping.
And the first born of generation two, Jazz Stone! It'll be interesting to see if she grows into those genetics...
I've got more screenshots etc., but it's nearly half one in the morning, so I'm leaving it at these three. I'm really enjoying playing it, though!
