As I drove into Seattle on Monday night with my mom, listening to 69 Love Songs, "The Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side" came on. It seemed very appropriate, of course, having my first car and all, and so I happily sang along and revelled in the moment.

The last few days have mostly been awash in dull tasks--things like looking into auto insurance--and I haven't gotten out of the house much. As a result, I guess, I've been on the lethargic side, and the weariness of remaining unsettled for so long has punctuated the days with a certain sadness. I think it'll be a great relief finally to be established in Madison in another few weeks. On the up side, I've still been getting my houseboy jollies in (though now I'm cleaning up after my mom), and I haven't done a crossword puzzle since getting home. Plus, tonight I saw Murderball, which definitely lived up to expectations; as I was walking out of the Crest after the film finished, the comfortable familiarity of being in this city returned, and I felt content.
