advanced choir auditions
Yeah... advanced choir auditions were today. Yay... I did well at solo (Handel's "Hallelujah amen"... church choir did it last year, so I know it, it's a style of music I'm comfortable with, and it fits my vocal range really well, plus horoho could play the first few notes for me to get the pitch), not as great at singing the sequences back (I definitely wasn't thinking... I could have gotten the first and used the intervals, but I stupidly tried to remember the individual notes), and prety horid at sightreading. Not that there's a lot of competition anyway... (Peter S. advised me not to bother auditioning.)
Anyway, fun times in the hall... lots of complete randomness and fun stuff... current advanced choir member being there to encourage everyone was nice... and mark m. determined that I have a much better voice than I look like I would have... which was wierd because he didn't notice that most people would assume I was a tenor... even people with no musical ability notice that...
In other choir-related stuff, one of the people in my church choir is going to states. Which is really cool.
