It's the quantum foam on the breakers of the zeitgeist. The noosphere.
What Alan Moore calls Ideaspace. I think of it as the Superflow. Where
ideas live. The invisible superstream of cultures' current thinking, the
tidal movement of creation and innovation and trend and change.
My previous LJ, mistersleepless, started to feel restrictive. I used it
for long projects, but the digressions got longer than the projects. I
wanted something looser, where the framework let me do anything that
occurred to me. Also, it was time for a change. Mistersleepless ran for a
little over a year, I think, and that's a long haul in internet time for
something with a single goal -- producing one complete longform work for
the web.
This one is going to be more random and chaotic, dumping out the creative
experiments and general headmuck that doesn't fit on my other websites. I
came to like producing material for the LJ audience, just as I liked using
LJ to syndicate new material and using the system for art rather than, you
know, memes and quizzes and polls.
There were around 2700 LJ users subscribed to mistersleepless when I closed
it. Because I'm a pig, I set this new LJ up as a scavenger hunt. Let's
see if anyone finds it. The viral nature of it all amuses me -- it's close
to how I opened mistersleepless, after all.
