So I woke up this morning like always. Dressed. Shoes, coat, you know.

Put my hat on--

And it was like the world turned inside out.

I'm stuck here, now. It's dark, and there's nobody to talk to except this goddamn rabbit and he just keeps nattering on about how his watch isn't working properly. Something about crumbs, and butter.

I offered him mine, which is properly wound and has only the minor infestation of a serpent that crawled out of my mint jelly two months ago at dinner, and I convinced him to let me bathe him before he gummed up the works, but the rabbit insisted that it must be his watch, and not mine.

It's all really sort of silly anyway. It's dark in here, completely pitch dark; the only way I'm even sure my companion is a rabbit is that his ears tickle at my elbows when he blunders too close.

Resigned to my fate, I sit slumped against the wall-- I hope it's the wall-- and write this as best I can without being able to see. The dragon in my watch glows a bit from time to time, but in no real useful fashion.

All I can say is this.

I am most glad I have such fine taste in hats. Were my surroundings more cheaply made, I don't think I'd be able to survive long.
