Part One because there will probably be much more.
To understand, you must know that my job is being a waiter. I hate my job, but the people I work with are pretty much all awesome, which is the main reason why I'm not crazy yet, haha!
So you all know people like free stuff, especially when you are a customer. Like those candies they put near the cash register.
Do you know those candies cost heck a lot to buy? We give them for free, but, seriously, people like to abuse and take like full pocket of them. and you know who are those who abuse the most? The ones who never give tips, of course!
All right, so I want to tell this story that happened recently. I wasn't there when it happened, but other workers told me, lol.
Once upon a time, there was a Friday evening, and you know that it's one of those time where everyone want to eat in a restaurant AT THE SAME TIME. What's worst for us (but good for the business) is that we are in a spot very near a very popular show theater thing where many people attend each days, so what do they do before going to see a show? They come to eat in a restaurant.
So of course, the day was extremely rushing, all the seats are full, and there's a huge lineup at the entrance, so people had to wait for a while for a seat.
One of the waiting customer didn't agree with this though.
The customer, let's call him Mr. Badguy, came with his small son and his wife. He couldn't stand the wait anymore, so he passed after everyone with his family and get to the boss's brother who also acts as one of the main managers; let's call him Mr. H. A discussion came between them.
Mr. Badguy: Hey, is there some seat for us? We've been waiting for a while.
Mr. H: I'm sorry, we're full.
Mr. Badguy: Oh, but I know you can make us a seat, huh? I'm the boss's friend! You can do something about it, no?
Of course, Mr. H knew it was a lie. All their friends group between the brothers are pretty close, and M. H knows all the friend his boss brother has, and obviously, he had no idea who was that customer, pretending to be his brother's friend.
Mr. H: Well, I can't "create new seats for you", nor I can kick out customers for you, you know?
Mr. Badguy felt pretty insulted, indeed. He got all angry and decided to go away with his family and ended that there. Unfortunately, it didn't end there as he came back like a minute later to speak with the same manager.
Mr. Badguy: You know, I'm happy that you're telling me this, because we will never come back here, ever.
However, customers must learn that pretty much no one care about that kind of threat. And that Mr. H has a big temper. But since it was part of his job, he didn't yell or anything.
Mr. H: Yeah. Whatever.
And for some unknown reason, some impulsion pushed Mr. Badguy to jump on Mr. H and start a FIGHT, like... IN THE MIDDLE OF MORE THAN 200 PEOPLE. Mr. H wasn't the kind of guy to leave people doing whatever they want, so of course, he was forced to fight back. My guess is that Mr. Badguy wanted to give an effect and have Mr H beg for him to stay after the threat, but of course, this will never work.
One of the waiters (fortunately he was pretty much manly build, haha) had to come to them and stop the fight. Everyone in the restaurant was looking at them, all with the expression of "O_O".
So my points are:
- Way to give a good example in front of your son, to act all aggressive over something so small. I'm pretty sure his wife get beaten everyday if he can get angry just like that.
- When you go to a public place to buy something or to eat something, have in mind that YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER THERE.
- When a restaurant is full, there is nothing you can do but wait, or go somewhere else.
- Don't lie about being friend of some workers, bosses or something, because we have contacts everywhere.
- And the most important thing is that threats like "I'M NEVER COMING BACK EVAH" NEVER FRIGGIN WORK ON US. WE DON'T CARE IF YOU NEVER COME BACK, we don't want customers like that, lulz.
If some of you reading this feels concerned, then... too bad.
