...is what I've been doing for the past few days. Job is going smoothly, they recently hired 6 more testers, and 2 of them are from EGADS! It's good to see the club deliver on its promise of job opportunities. I'm also enjoying seeing a game go from crap to less crap to better on the development cycle. When the game comes to fruition I will be able to say "I helped," which in itself is pretty cool. It's damn cold in the testing room, and me having the spot right below the AC vent doesn't help much. We have 25-cent vending machines, though, so I'm not complaining much.
It's looking less and less likely that I will be able to make it to Quakecon this year. I'm afraid to ask my boss for time off , even a month in advance, since they've been so nice to me and everything. I think I will, though, just to be sure. The worst they can say is "no."
I can cook a little bit! I made an awesome barbecue pizza the other day....so proud of myself! I have also recently learned how to cook ground meat and make Hamburger Helper and spaghetti out of it. Soon I hope to perfect sloppy joes. We'll see how that turns out.
I will say this, it is quite lonely up here all by myself. Everyone is either busy at a job or in another city. This weekend people are coming up to visit, which will be a welcome change from the daily grind. Can't wait!
I forgot if I posted this already, but I bought a copy of the 2005 Rose Bowl game and I've watched it twice already. Texas never ceases to entertain, whether winning or losing, and that's really what matters most to me. I've also been playing more DotA lately since my connection has improved a bit. Apparently the apt. complex is offering free cable/RoadRunner starting in August, that is going to be NICE. I will finally be able to watch TV, though I really don't watch much anyway.
Dustin out.....
